FC Barcelona head into Saturday's El Clasico against Real Madrid having lost their perfect start to the new La Liga season with a 0-0 draw against Osasuna last weekend.
FC Barcelona team
is currently leading in the table of the Spanish league; nevertheless,
the Catalans did not win the last two games they played. Surprisingly,
their away match against Osasuna in Primera Divison ended in a goalless
draw. Similarly, Gerardo Martino’s squad did not manage to gain three
points during their next game; however, the rival, AC Milan, was much
better than the side from Pampelona. Still, Barcelona remain La Liga
unbeaten team so far scoring in the nine games 28 goals. Barcelona’s
manager still cannot make use of two players, Alba and Afellay, who are
injured.
Real Madrid, on
the other hand, has been presenting lately a superb form having won
four games in a row (two respectively in Champions League and Spanish La
Liga). After nine fixtures the Madrid side occupies the third place in
the table having scored so far 19 goals (9 less than their rivals from
Camp Nou!). Ancelotti’s players lost only one game in Primera Division
at Madrid’s derby against Atletico. Last season, then Mourinho’s side,
won both La Liga’s El Classicos seizing 2:1 victory at home and
surprising 3:1 at Camp Nou. When it comes to the injured players, the
midfielder Xabi Alonso is still out of the squad.
