Anzhi Makhachkala only
drew 0:0 with Sheriff Tiraspol – probably the weakest club in this
group – on the first game in EL. Anzhi’s performance has lately been
very poor – out of the last five games they drew four! of them and lost
one. They are at the bottom of the Russian Premier League table. When
facing Tottenham they certainly have to show some extraordinary
football-strength; moreover if the team want to get a satisfying result
the players will be forced to show their best football so far, which
seems to be quite unlikely.
Anzhi Makhachkala (4-4-2): Kerzhakov; Angbwa, Ewerton, Tagirbekov, Adeleye; Agalarov, Akhmedov, Sobolev, Jucilei; Burmistrov, Solomatin
Tottenham Hotspur won the first group-game against Tomsoe 3:0. In England they are third
in the Premier League with only three points behind the leading Arsenal.
Manager Villas-Boas's team is currently playing football not only
pleasing for the eye, but effective as well. They will certainly try to
win another game and confirm that the Tottenham is the only right
favourite of this group. Quite a considerable amount of goals may be
expected.
Tottenham Hotspur (4-3-3): Friedel; Naughton, Kaboul, Chiriches, Fryers; Holtby, Sandro, Dembele; Kane, Defoe, Lamela
