Manchester United vs Newcastle United
Competition: English Premier League
Match date: Friday, 26 December 2014
Kick Off Time: 15:00 GMT
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester, United Kingdom

Man United have been in fine form lately as they finally have built chemistry with each other after buying up some of the world’s best talent. Not losing over their last 7 EPL matches, including a 6 game winning streak that unfortunately ended last Saturday at Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw, has found them sitting comfortably in 3rd position after 17 rounds of league play. David De Gea will look to add to his 4 Clean Sheets over 9 home matches as they play one of the weaker road offenses in the English Premier League. Rademel Falcao will want to add to his 2 goal tally after scoring a fine header last weekend at Aston Villa. Wayne Rooney will lead the attack that has managed an impressive 19 goals over 9 Home games this season. Look for this scoring success to continue on Boxing Day as Manchester United will need to continue building up their new identity under new manager Louis Van Gaal if they are to keep up with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea FC in the title race. Injuries to the defense shouldn’t bother them much as they allow a mere .66 goals per home match to visiting opponents.
Newcastle team have lost their last 3 matches in all competitions and they won’t have much hope of changing this trend in Old Trafford’s hostile environment. They have only scored 8 goals in 9 away games while allowing a dismal 14 in that span. Playing a Manchester United team that has only allowed 6 goals at home, Newcastle United stand little chance of scoring in this match as they have only put away 1 goal over their last 3 games. Ayoze Perez will draw the start at striker with a huge task of scoring for his side and hopefully surprising everyone in Manchester. He has 4 goals in Premier League play this season and Newcastle will do everything they can to implement a way to get him in goal-scoring position on Boxing Day this Friday. Newcastle have to play within themselves to have a chance but it is not expected to help them much against the deadly Man United attack.

Probable lineups:
Manchester United: de Gea – Jones, Carrick, Evans – Valencia, Fletcher, di Maria, Young – Rooney – Falcao, van Persie.
Newcastle United: Alnwick – Janmaat, S. Taylor, Coloccini, Dummett – Anita, Colback – Sissoko, Cabella, Ameobi – Papis Cisse.

Cagliari vs Juventus Italian Serie A - December 18, 2014

0 التعليقات

Cagliari vs Juventus - Competition: Italian Serie A

Cagliari team are an unpredictable team with an offensive way of play, imposed by their new coach Zeman, that demands a lot of movement from his team. Considering only the away matches of this season, Cagliari would be on the 9th place with 2 wins gained in Milan against Inter Milan (4-1) and in Empoli (4-0), 3 draws and 3 defeats. But Zeman‘s team didn’t win at home this season yet and are the worst home team in the entire Calcio, even Parma and Cesena won at least once at home. All the soccer experts know the battle that Zeman fought against the old style Juventus with their corruption issues, and for him and his fans, a win on Thursday evening would feel like a Scudetto.
Juventus are once again the Serie A leader in all categories after 15 rounds: points, goals scored and clean sheets, even though they are coming from two consecutive draws, what has never happened in the last couple of years. In fact, Massimiliano Allegri and his team were not able to defeat Fiorentina (0-0) and Sampdoria (1-1) in the last two Italian Serie A matches. On Thursday, they will face Cagliari where they didn’t lose since 2009. After that match, the Bianconeri will travel to Doha to clash SSC Napoli on Monday for the Italian Super Cup Trophy. In Cagliari, Bonucci will miss the match due to suspension and Allegri hopes to recover Caceres and Baragli.

Probable lineups:
Cagliari: Cragno – Balzano, Ceppitelli, Rossettini, Avelar – Crisetig, Conti, Ekdal – Farias, Ibarbo, Cossu.
Juventus: Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Ogbonna, Chiellini, Evra – Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba – Vidal – Llorente, Tevez.

Manchester United vs Liverpool
Competition: English Premier League
Match date: Sunday, 14 December 2014
Kick Off Time: 13:30 GMT
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester, United Kingdom

Manchester United have earned their spot in the top three of the English Premiere League table over the last few weeks. They’ve won each of their last five matches, but not all have been with conviction. The Red Devils have had luck on their side in their matches against Arsenal and Southampton. Nonetheless, Manchester United has taken third place and will not be eager to give it away so quickly. Also, despite their consistent defensive woes, some positive news has surfaced for United as Phil Jones has recently returned to training, yet it is unlikely that his first re-appearance will be against Liverpool on Sunday.
Liverpool were off to a great start to their 2014/2015 campaign, but have fallen off hard recently and are in dire need of a spark to turn their season back around. The Reds were only just recently knocked out of Champions League competition after their match with FC Basel on Tuesday. A stunning 81st minute equalizer from Steven Gerrard was not enough to give Liverpool the points they needed to accompany Real Madrid through into the knock-out stages. Liverpool are in 9th place currently, but this is a crucial game for the Reds to earn points because they could either climb as far as 6 or fall as far as 12.

Probable lineups:
Manchester United: de Gea – Evans, Carrick, Rojo – Valencia, Fellaini, Herrera, Young – Mata – Rooney, van Persie.
Liverpool: Mignolet – Johnson, Lovren, Skrtel, Moreno – Henderson, Lucas – Sterling, Gerrard, Lallana – Lambert.

Barcelona vs PSG Champions League December 10, 2014

FC Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain
Competition: UEFA Champions League, Group F
Match date: 10 December 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 GMT
Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain

In the 5th round, Lionel Messi became the record UEFA Champions League goalscorer and Luis Suarez opened his account for Barcelona as the Catalan giants cruised to a 4-0 win over APOEL Nicosia. Suarez put Barca ahead with his first goal for the club since his 64 million-pound summer move from Liverpool before Lionel Messi took centre-stage with a hat trick (all with his less-favoured right foot). In the last La Liga match, FC Barcelona came from behind to thump crosstown rivals Espanyol 5-1 last weekend, with a hat-trick from Lionel Messi plus goals from Gerard Pique and Pedro. Barcelona have won in their last 7 games in 3 competitions, in which they scored a total of 23 goals.
PSG team maintained their position at the top of UEFA Champions League Group F with a 3-1 win over AFC Ajax at a wet and windy Parc des Princes last round. The French champions saw off their Dutch visitors, but it wasn’t as comfortable a win as the scoreline suggests. Edinson Cavani scored twice either side of a superb Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike, but the Amsterdam side did tally through Davy Klaasen. In their last Ligue 1 match, Paris Saint-Germain didn’t play to their full potential, but star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic bailed them out with a match-winning performance and some key goals. The French champions came from behind to beat FC Nantes 2-1 at the Parc des Princes. The match brings Laurent Blanc, the Paris coach and former FC Barcelona player, back to the Camp Nou while Thiago Motta, Maxwell and Zlatan Ibrahimović also return.

Probable lineups:
Barcelona: Bravo – Dani Alves, Pique, Mathieu, Jordi Alba – Rakitic, Busquets, Xavi – Suarez, Messi, Neymar.
PSG: Sirigu – van der Wiel, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Maxwell – Lucas, Verratti, Matuidi, Pastore – Cavani, Ibrahimovic.

Barcelona last 5 matches:
22/11/14 Barcelona 5 – 1 Sevilla
25/11/14 APOEL 0 – 4 Barcelona
30/11/14 Valencia 0 – 1 Barcelona
03/12/14 Huesca 0 – 4 Barcelona
07/12/14 Barcelona 5 – 1 Espanyol

PSG last 5 matches:
21/11/14 Metz 2 – 3 PSG
25/11/14 PSG 3 – 1 Ajax
29/11/14 PSG 1 – 0 Nice
03/12/14 Lille 1 – 1 PSG

Liverpool FC vs Basel Champions League 09-12-2014

0 التعليقات

Liverpool FC vs Basel - Competition: Champions League

Liverpool have admittedly begun to turn around their poor form, and after going 4 consecutive matches without a defeat, the Reds will be in full confidence headed into their midweek clash with Basel. However, in their previous meeting, Liverpool were clearly missing their departed striker Luis Suarez and their injured hit-man Daniel Sturridge, as Basel held them to a shut out to claim a vital 3 points. But the hosts pulled themselves back into contention with a 2:2 draw against Ludogorets, though they admittedly blew the chance at all 3 points by conceding late into the match. It came as no surprise to anyone who has followed the Reds this season, as their defence has been in shambles all year. They were able to mask their defensive woes last term with a high-flying attack, but now they have been forced to play with Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli, both of whom have shown flashes of ability but have largely disappointed in their debut season with the club. The Englishman will likely get the start once again, and he must be clinical against a stern defence that has conceded just 2 Champions League goals since getting whacked by Real Madrid 5:1 on opening day. While we like Liverpool’s chances of advancing to the next round, they just seem destined for mediocrity until they can get some of the new players firing and their goal-machine striker Daniel Sturridge back from injury.
Basel team must love getting matched up with English opposition in the UCL, where they have lost just 1 of their 9 meetings with English clubs. They have already conquered Liverpool this year at home 1:0, as a Marco Streller goal was the difference in a match that saw them shut down the offensively-challenged Reds. Led by talented 22-year-old centre-back Fabian Schar, the defence has been excellent since getting dismantled by Real Madrid on opening day (1:5). They have conceded just 9 goals in their last 16 competitive fixtures, including containing Madrid despite falling in defeat 0:1. Considering how ineffective Liverpool’s offense has been this season, the visitors will be confident of their chances at claiming 2nd place. While they don’t need to win the match to advance, they have won on 7 of their last 8 competitive outings, managing to keep 5 clean sheets in the process. This match could admittedly go very badly for the Swiss club, but with such a strong defence and an experienced striker in Marco Streller to lead them, we fancy this match ending in a draw to send them through to the knockout round.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Premier League 03-12-2014

0 التعليقات
Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur - Competition: English Premier League

Chelsea team were halted on the road over the weekend when they traveled to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland. The Black Cats had won their previous 2 meetings with Chelsea, including a historic road victory last season at Stamford Bridge to end manager Jose Mourinho’s home unbeaten streak in the Premier League. While Chelsea managed to avoid defeat this go-around, they were held to their first scoreless match all season (20 competitive fixtures). Mourinho hailed Sunderland’s stubborn defending but failed to point out the fact that his troops easily could’ve lost the game. But the result alone is what matters and Chelsea remain invincible through 13 Premier League rounds. However, they have been dealt bad news here with the suspension of hot-headed Diego Costa, who picked up his 5th yellow card of the season. But the Spaniard was arguably lucky to have avoided red, and his quick temper won’t do him any favors in the physical English top-flight. Nevertheless, Didier Drogba has been in fine form and should be able to carry the torch this midweek. Furthermore, look for midfield passmaster Cesc Fabregas to be able to find more success than he did last time out against Lee Cattermole and the feisty Black Cats.
Tottenham are rapidly improving after a series of troubling results in the English Premier League saw them pick up just 5 points through 7 league matches. But manager Mauricio Pochettino is beginning to convince his players to buy into his system, and their form has taken a drastic turn for the better. They have now won 3 of their last 4 Premier League contests while claiming victory in 6 of their last 7 matches in all competitions. But before their weekend clash with Everton last time out, the Hotspurs had yet to bag a win against a top 5 club from last term. But an unlikely hero in Soldado popped up to steal all of the points in just their 2nd league win in 6 tries at White Hart Lane, as the Spaniard smashed in his first goal in the Premier League since March. He may have not had a great overall game but if he can find his scoring boots for the striker-hungry club, there’s no telling where he can take this team. However, the fixture list isn’t kind to them this midweek as they will turn around and travel to Stamford Bridge to face the odds-on favorites to win the title. They were thrashed last season by the hosts 4:0 in West London, and while there shouldn’t be a repeat of that scoreline here, defeat will be a difficult thing to avoid for the traveling North Londoners.

Probable lineups:
Chelsea FC: Courtois – Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta – Matic, Fabregas – Willian, Oscar, Hazard – Remy.
Tottenham: Lloris – Naughton, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies – Bentaleb, Mason – Lamela, Paulinho, Eriksen – Soldado.

West Bromwich Albion vs Arsenal
Competition: Premier League
Match date: Saturday, 29 November 2014
Kick Off Time: 12:45 BST
Venue: The Hawthorns, West Bromwich, United Kingdom

West Bromwich team enter the weekend pleased with their performance thus far, sitting comfortably in 13th place at 3 points above the dreaded relegation zone. After barely staving off the bottom 3 places last season, the Baggies will be eager to lend their fans a pacemaker here, adding to their point tally against a tough opponent and calming the nerves of thousands of club loyalists. But the balances of power shift regularly in the English Premier League, and the Baggies will know that avoiding defeat at The Hawthorns this season will be essential to staving off the drop. They are unbeaten in 4 of their last 5 competitive matches at home, and manager Alan Irvine will be looking forward to taking points off the struggling Gunners. Unfortunately for the hosts, they will be without Yacob and have not defeated Arsenal in their last 8 meetings. While the Baggies can be a stern opponent and will likely keep this match close, they will be hard-pressed to sneak a point out of the Hawthorns this Saturday.
Arsenal responded well to a mass of criticism and questions over the team’s mental fragility, as the Gunners came out of their 1:2 defeat to Manchester United over the midweek with a sense of purpose and determination. Against a Borussia Dortmund side that have taken no prisoners in the Champions League this season, the Gunners took the initiative from the off, as surprise starter Yaya Sanogo slotted home the beautiful give-and-go with Santi Cazorla in just the 2nd minute. But the visitors live and die by the “beautiful goal,” and perhaps what has been most needed is a bit of directness in their play. Alexis Sanchez provided that when his side took a 2:0 lead over the Germans, as the Chilean curled a lovely 25-yarder into the far netting, sealing the matchday’s proceedings. Unfortunately for the Gunners, victory seems to come at a cost this season, as Mikel Arteta and Yaya Sanogo both limped off in the second half. Neither will feature this weekend, but Danny Welbeck should return to action and lead the line once again. A big 3 points for the Gunners is the likely outcome this Saturday.

Probable lineups:
West Bromwich: Foster – Wisdom, Dawson, Lescott, Pocognoli – Dorrans, Gardner, Morrison, Brunt – Sessegnon – Berahino.
Arsenal: Martinez – Chambers, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs – Arteta, Ramsey – Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanchez, Cazorla – Welbeck.

APOEL Nicosia 0-4 Barcelona (Group F):
27' 0-1 Luis Suarez // 38' 0-2 Lionel Messi // 58' 0-3 Lionel Messi // 87' 0-4 Lionel Messi

Play maker Lionel Messi already proof him as a goal machine where in this match he proof him as a finishing maker as well. If you watched 4 goals of Leo Messi in world cup where 3 was out from D box which mention that most of the goals of Lionel Messi is extra ordinary where in this match against APOEL, Messi played as Central forward and all goals by tricky finishing. This hat-trick by Messi kept him on rank #2 among top goal scorer of this season on UCL. Definitely, it’s a good sign for Barcelona to do well in this Champions League 2014/2015. Another goal of this match scored by Luiz Suarez on 27′.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City ChampionsLeague 25-11-2014

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City
Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, United Kingdom
Match date: Tuesday, 25 November 2014 - 19:45 GMT

Man City team have disappointed once again in the UCL, as it appears they are headed for an early exit from the competition involving Europe’s elite clubs. Through 4 group stage matches, they have accumulated a paltry 2 points to sit in last place of Group E, and a visit from the table-toppers and soaring Bavarians isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered. They did look strong against the Germans in their first fixture in Munich, perhaps unluckily losing 1:0 to a very late Jerome Boateng goal. After drawing with Roma and CSKA, the hosts fell in catastrophic fashion to the Moscow-based club 1:2, seeing their Champions League hopes now hanging by a thread headed into Tuesday’s clash. However, the Citizens did look better last time out in a 2:1 dispatching of feisty Swansea, and perhaps even more importantly than the 3 points was the return to form of midfield star Yaya Toure, who netted the go-ahead goal and had an overall strong match. The Ivorian has struggled with his form since the death of his brother Ibrahim back in June, playing with a heavy heart through the World Cup and the early season. But if last match was any indication of things to come, the powerful midfielder is well on his way to a return to his best form, and that is only good news for the struggling hosts. However, they will unfortunately be forced to play without their talismanic star here, as he is forced out after picking up a red-card suspension in their defeat to CSKA Moscow, and the must-win they need is unlikely to come as a result.
Bayern Munich can seemingly do no wrong at the moment. Despite facing an extensive injury list throughout the early going of the season, which was just compounded by the multiple-month loss of Phillip Lahm, the Bavarians have won their last 5 competitive matches and 11 of their last 12 in all competitions. They have lost just once this season in a German Super Cup clash with Dortmund, but the cup admittedly lacks any real noteworthy accomplishment, and the visitors deployed a team comprising of many of their second-choice and third-choice backups. Now, they will head to Manchester to take on the struggling English champions, who they defeated 1:0 back in Germany in their first match-up. Jerome Boateng was the unexpected hero on that day, guiding his team to victory with a 90th-minute match winner. Things should be tight again here as the hosts look to salvage some pride after a disappointing showing so far, and considering the numerous injuries the visitors have to deal with and that they have already won the group, things could be split evenly by the time all is said and done in Manchester. It may be important to note that Muller shook off an injury scare over the most recent international break and will be available for selection here.

Probable lineups:
Manchester City: Hart – Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy – Fernando, Lampard, Milner, Nasri – Jovetic, Aguero.
Bayern Munich: Neuer – Rafinha, Benatia, Dante, J. Bernat – Schweinsteiger, Rode – Shaqiri, M. Gotze, Ribery – Lewandowski.

Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion
Competition: English Premier League
Match date: 22 November 2014
Kick Off Time: 15:00 BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge, London

In all competitions, Chelsea FC have not been beaten since early August. Even after drawing with Manchester United several weeks ago, Chelsea have earned the right to be four points clear of Southampton and eight points clear of Man City in the Premiere League thus far. Following their win over Liverpool last Saturday, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho criticized fans for their lack of vocal support. It is highly likely that Chelsea supporters will meet this accusation with a rousing welcome home for Saturday’s match versus West Brom. Against West Brom, Chelsea have struggled in recent years. Their last five meeting, the blues have lost twice, drawn twice and won only once (three matches ago).
West Bromwich is coming off a 0-2 loss to Newcastle on November 9th. Their form has been lackluster of late, finding only one win since beating Burnley on September 28th. They are also scoreless in their last two matches. Against Chelsea FC, they have had some good success in recent years. West Brom and Chelsea have both managed to take five points from their last two seasons (four matches) playing against each other in the Premiere League. Though the stats show Chelsea as an overwhelming favorite, West Brom will certainly put up a fight in hopes of remaining in the top half of the table. Even a draw against the frontrunners would be a massive help for the Baggies, so they will likely show a very defensive starting line up and formation.

Chelsea last 5 matches:
26/10/14 Manchester United 1 – 1 Chelsea
28/10/14 Shrewsbury Town 1 – 2 Chelsea
01/11/14 Chelsea 2 – 1 QPR
05/11/14 Maribor 1 – 1 Chelsea
08/11/14 Liverpool 1 – 2 Chelsea

28/10/14 Bournemouth 2 – 1 West Brom

Paris Saint-Germain team is welcoming this duel after their latest series of five consecutive wins, three in the Championship and two in the UCL over APOEL, after which they together with FC Barcelona already ensured a place in the knockout phase. It just means that they can now totally devoted their attention to the fight for the first place in France Ligue 1, where their next rivals OM are currently at, so we are absolutely sure that they are going to give their best in order to come closer one point.
Here we need to mention the fact that the current French champions still have not felt the bitterness of defeat this season, though they are constantly playing on two very strong fronts, but it is certainly largely to thanks to their wide bench, so coach Blanc has an adequate alternative for each position at any moment. Therefore, the absence of Ibrahimovic for more than a month was not felt so much in a game, while we should also add that the injured midfielder Verratti is still questionable for this match.
As for the guests from Olympique Marseille, we have already said that they are after 12 rounds on the leading position in Ligue 1, with four points more than PSG and five compared to the third Lyon, which defeated them two weeks ago in the championship, after their stunning series of eight consecutive victories. This has certainly disrupted them, which was best confirmed by the next match in the French League Cup where they were defeated away at Rennes while they last weekend with a lot of trouble came to the minimum home triumph over Lens in the Championship.
But the most important thing for a coach Bielsa is that they managed to come back after two straight defeats, but also to the four points of excess entering this big derby with Paris Saint-Germain, so they will certainly be somewhat relieved at Princes Park. On the other hand, they are certainly not very happy by the fact that their top scorer of France Ligue 1, Gignac, has not scored a goal in three consecutive matches, so he will definitely need extra help this time in the offensive part. We should also add that their injured central defender Morel will have to miss this match, as well as the suspended midfielder Romao due to his red card.

Probable lineups
FC Paris Saint-Germain: Sirigu – van der Wiel, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell – Motta, Matuidi – Lucas, Pastore, Lavezzi – Cavani.
Olympique Marseille: Mandanda – Dja Djedje, Fanni, N’Koulou, Mendy – Lemina, Imbula – Thauvin, Payet, Ayew – Gignac.

Liverpool vs Chelsea Premier League Saturday, 8 November 2014

Liverpool vs Chelsea FC
Competition: England Premier League, 2014/2015 - Matchday 11

Liverpool team have taken a serious hit to their title chances in recent weeks, picking up just a point against underdogs Hull City (0:0) and Newcastle United (1:0) in their last 2 English Premier League matches. Shockingly poor scoring form for the hosts has ultimately been the main reason for their fall to 7th place, as just 2 goals from their last 5 competitive contests has Brendan Rodgers irate with his team’s performances. That showed over the midweek in Champions League action when the Northern Irishman marched out an odd and what some would call disrespectful lineup against Real Madrid. But the bench players responded well and the team put in an admirable performance, but yet again their offensive ineptitude since the departure of Luis Suarez and the injury to Daniel Sturridge was a glaring problem, as the Reds conjured up just 4 total shots (1 on target) compared to 27 for the Spaniards. But Rodgers will know that Saturday presents a golden opportunity to storm back into the title race with all 3 points against the league leaders, and while it appears to be a tall task for the offensively-challenged Reds headed in, they’ll take comfort in the fact that they’ve won 19 of their last 25 EPL matches at Anfield.
Chelsea extended their improbable bid to become just the second team in English Premier League history to go unbeaten in a season, but as the players begin to dream of immortality in the record books, a trip to Anfield serves as a dangerous roadblock to their unconquered run. There is unquestioned world class talent in this squad, with the likes of Diego Costa flashing brilliance in his first Premier League season and Belgian speed demon Eden Hazard looking dangerous per usual for the Blues, but they’ve shown a propensity for shutting off at times, best highlighted by the fact they’ve now conceded in 7 of their 10 English Premier League matches this season. That trend continued into the Champions League over the midweek, as the Blues picked up a disappointing 1:1 draw with Maribor in group action. They were perhaps caught looking ahead to their important clash this weekend at Anfield, and considering how dominant they have played in England this season, it just isn’t wise to bet against the Londoners at the moment. They should at the least be sharing the points in another vital road clash for the current table-toppers.

Manchester City vs CSKA Moskva
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Match date: 5 November 2014
Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Goals:
Manchester City – Yaya Toure 8'
CSKA – Seydou Doumbia 2' // Seydou Doumbia 34'

Playing at home, Manchester City were eager to pick up their first win in the competition, but things didn't look bright when CSKA Moscow went one goal up after just two minutes of play.
That lead didn't last long though as Man City managed to draw level six minutes later with a lovely free kick from Yaya Toure.
The visitor were not short of confidence and beliefs as they continue to cause problems for Manuel Pellegrini's men and on 34 minutes Doumbia regained his team's lead with a fine finish.
Manchester City tried to push harder after the break, but none of their efforts were fruitful as things got even worse when they have to end that tie with only nine men after Fernandino and Yaya Toure were sent off.

Bayern Munchen vs AS Roma Champions League 05-11-2014

Bayern Munchen vs AS Roma
Competition: UEFA Champions League, Group E
Match date: 5 November 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Allianz-Arena, Munchen

Bayern Munich team have hardly held the handbrake against their opponents this season, as the defending Bundesliga champions have now gone unconquered in their last 15 competitive matches, claiming victory on 12 of those occasions. Furthermore, 8 of those 12 wins were by multiple-goal margins, and there is little dispute over who is going to sit atop German domestic football at the end of the season. However, manager Pep Guardiola and his troops will be intent upon returning to European glory as well, where they were crowned champions just 2 seasons ago. A fast start has them atop perhaps the most difficult group in the CL this year headed into matchweek 4, as the hosts have won all 3 of their opening matches against Man City (1:0 at home), CSKA (1:0 on the road), and this midweek’s opponent, Roma (7:1 on the road). That final match witnessed the electric ability of Arjen Robben (2 goals and an assist) and Robert Lewandowski (1 goal and 1 assist), and despite the Bavarians dealing with an extensive injury list at the moment, the quality in this side is too difficult to ignore for the potential outcome of Wednesday’s Group E clash.
AS Roma team won their first 6 competitive games this season while going unconquered in their first 7. Excitement surrounded the camp, as they appeared poised to put up a significant challenge in both the Champions League and the Italian Serie A. But a 3:2 loss to Juventus in league action sent those over-the-moon expectations crashing back down to a harsh reality, as the visitors have now lost 3 of their last 6 competitive matches, falling off the title pace by 3 points. However, they do still sit in 2nd place with 4 points through their first 3 UCL group games, and a difficult road point here would go a long way towards ensuring their presence in the next round. However, they come up against a Bayern Munich side that just destroyed the visitors in Rome 7:1, and the upset here appears to be a bit of a long shot despite the obvious quality AS Roma possess. Furthermore, the Giallorossi lost their league contest over the weekend to Napoli, and confidence may have taken a critical hit as they travel to Bavaria, and with an overall road record of 2 wins and 9 losses against German opposition, the Italian visitors should be seeing defeat once again.

Bayern Munchen last 5 matches:
18/10/14 Bayern München 6 – 0 Werder Bremen
21/10/14 Roma 1 – 7 Bayern München
26/10/14 Borussia M’gla… 0 – 0 Bayern München
29/10/14 Hamburger 1 – 3 Bayern München

Real Madrid vs Liverpool Champions League - November 4, 2014

0 التعليقات
After a rather weak start of the season, Real Madrid are back on track again. Because after three losses in their first 6 games, they are now unbeaten for almost 2 months. In the Champions League, they had a great start from the beginning. 3 games are thru and they won all of them, with an impressive scoring balance of 10:2. Especially Benzema (3 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2 goals) were able to impress. It seems like it doesn’t matter wheter they play at home or on the road. But performing at the Santiago Bernabeu, they have perfect stats. They won all of their last 8 games there. The only bad news come from Bale, who is still injured and not ready to join his team against Liverpool.
Last season, Liverpool FC was unlucky at the end and missed to win the Premier League title closely but this time, they are struggling in the League as well as in the CL. After 3 match days, they have lost 2 times and won only their season premier against Ludogorets. This win was followed by a defeat from Basel (0:1) and the 0:3 loss against Real Madrid. Remarkable is the fact, that Liverpool has problems with scoring goals. After 10 match days of the Premier League, they have only scored 13 times. At the same moment last season, they had already scored 17 times. Without Suarez and an injured Sturridge, they don’t have a striker to rely on. Another fact which speaks against Liverpool is that they have only won 2 out of their last 5 international games on the road. 3 of these games have been lost.

Probable lineups:
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Varane, Marcelo; Modric, Kroos; James Rodriguez, Isco, Ronaldo; Benzema
Liverpool (4-3-2-1): Mignolet; Manquillo, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno; Gerrard, Henderson, Allen; Lallana, Sterling; Balotelli

Barcelona vs Celta de Vigo
Competition: Spanish Primera Division
Match date: 1 November 2014
Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona

FC Barcelona's reign at the top of Spanish La Liga standings ended this weekend as they suffered a shock home defeat from Celta Vigo.
Keen on redeeming themselves from last weekend's league defeat from Real Madrid, Barcelona immediately put on an attacking effort. It was not an easy task though for Barça to break down their opponent's defense, especially during the first 45 minutes as that period ended in goalless draw.
In the second half, Barca continue to prize forward in search for goals, but instead of scoring they found themselves trailing when Celta scored through Joaquin Larrivey on 55 minutes.
No more goals were scored afterwards as Celta holding on to their lead until the final whistle was blown.

SSC Napoli vs AS Roma Italian Serie A 01-11-2014

SSC Napoli vs AS Roma - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 1 November 2014
Kick Off Time: 14:00 BST
Venue: Stadio San Paolo, Napoli

SSC Napoli team started the season with ups and downs. The squad, that president De Laurentis put together, looks like not the best to fight vs Roma and Juventus for the scudetto. The new signed players during the summer transfer period like K. Koulibaly or midfielder David Lopez, didn’t bring the necessary quality to the team. Also players like Higuain and Hamsik were not offering their best performance, except in the last home match against Hellas Verona (6-2), and the early knock out from the UEFAChampions League didn’t help coach Benitez to start this season in the right way. Anyway, Saturday afternoon the San Paolo stadium will be crowded to support their stars and beat the AS Roma, as it happened in the last 2 matches played in Napoli.
After losing against Bayern Munich and drawing away against Sampdoria, the Roma found back to winning at home in the last round against Cesena and looks forward to meet SSC Napoli on the weekend. Rudi Garcia is doing a great job so far, even without availability of the entire squad, due to injuries of Castan, Strootman and Keita. In Napoli “the capital team” won’t make any discount to the home team even if they will play an important Champions League match in Munich next week. Garcia will try to recover Iturbe and Keita from the 1st minute and he should have also a permission from the doctor to give the defender Castan some minutes during the match.

Probable lineups:
Napoli: Rafael – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam – David Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Mertens – Higuain.
Roma: Skorupski – Torosidis, Manolas, Astori, Cole – Pjanic, de Rossi, Nainggolan – Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Spanish Primera Division 25-10-2014

Real Madrid vs Barcelona
Competition: Spanish Primera Division, Matchday 9
Match date: 25 October 2014
Kick Off Time: 17:00 BST
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid, Spain

Real Madrid appear unstoppable at the moment, ripping through their opposition in their last 8 matches in all competitions, claiming multiple-goal victories on 7 of those occasions. During this 8-game span, Los Blancos have outscored their opponents with 35 scored and just 5 conceded. 16 of those 35 goals have come from fully-fit superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who was at it again over the midweek in their trip to Liverpool, as the Portuguese hit-man scored the go-ahead goal and his first ever at Anfield in a comfortable 3:0 victory. Now manager Carlo Ancelotti and his seasoned troops will defend their home fortress against their arch-nemesis, FC Barcelona. The hosts were conquered last season by the Catalans at the Santiago Bernabeu, which was just 1 of 3 home defeats in Spanish Primera Division action in their last 54 fixtures, and Los Blancos will be eager exact their revenge upon their hated rivals. However, the imminent return of Luis Suarez casts doubt over the host’s chances, although they should at the least avoid defeat here on Saturday.
FC Barcelona team have also torn through their opponents in the early going of the season, having picked up maximum points in 7 of their 8 league matches. This form has propelled them into a familiar spot atop the Spanish Primera Division table, and they have a great opportunity to extend their 4-point lead on Real Madrid even further when they travel to the nation’s capital. Their last trip to the Santiago Bernabeu ended in victory for the visitors, as pint-sized magician Messi bagged a hat-trick and provided an assist in a thrilling 4:3 encounter. The Argentine is back to his old bag of tricks this season as well and he will be looked to as the leader of their new tripod attack force that includes himself, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. The Brazilian is in scintillating form and can’t seem to stop scoring at the moment, while the controversial Uruguayan is set to make his return to action after seeing his lengthy suspension come to an end. Whether he starts or not remains to be seen, but barring a FC Barcelona blowout, he should at least be making his competitive debut for his new club. The embattled striker’s return only serves to add further intrigue to what has become arguably the biggest rivalry in all of sports – the El Clasico.

AS Roma vs Bayern Munich UEFA Champions League 21-10-2014

0 التعليقات

AS Roma team are unbeaten in eleven of their last twelve matches. Their only loss during this streak came by the hand of Juventus, who are currently unbeaten in, and top of the Serie A table. Despite their sparkling form, AS Roma still sit behind the frontrunners in both the Serie A and in Group E of the Champions League. Tuesday’s clash with Bayern Munich is a very important for Roma, as it could be a deciding factor in who goes on to win the group. Francesco Totti was predicted to be on the bench for Roma’s league match versus Chievo Verona over the weekend, but he started, showed excellent form, and contributed a goal to the 3-0 final score. Roma may appear to be the underdogs against Bayern Munich, but they have been in such good form lately, that it is very likely that they will steal the three points at home this Tuesday and take the lead at the top of Group E.

Bayern Munchen have been in sparkling form lately, winning four of their last five matches and remain unbeaten in their last ten. In the 2010/2011 Champions League competition, Bayern Munich and AS Roma each won their home matches against each other. Bayern went on to claim the top spot in the group while Roma brought up second, advancing them both to the Round of 16. In their last match, Bayern rolled over Werder Bremen by an unforgiving score of 6-0. Tuesday’s match very well could be the deciding factor in who goes on to win Group E this year. Bayern has become a powerful force to be reckoned with, but they will have a very difficult time at the Stadio Olimpico this Tuesday. Roma will play defensively and take advantage of their goal-scoring opportunities; Bayern must respond with a solid back line and they must finish their early chances to hold off the Italians.

Roma last 5 matches:
24/09/14 Parma 1 – 2 Roma

Inter Milan vs Napoli - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 19 October 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milano

Inter Milan team have found themselves struggling recently in away games. Luckily for Inter fans they are playing in the comforts of the San Siro where they have netted 10 goals through just 3 matches. A powerhouse at home, Inter are not a team to ignore as we enter the 7th round of Italian Serie A play. Only allowing 4 goals at home, which all came against Cagliari a couple weeks ago, Inter Milan have to stay vigilant on the defensive side to boost their counter attack style. In comes a dangerous Napoli team playing in top form lately, and you can rest assured they will be ready to fight in Milan. Inter will need to continue building on their offensive success Sunday in order to come away with the maximum 3 points. Led by feared Italian striker Pablo Osvaldo who has a beautiful stat line of 4 goals,3 assists through their first 6 matches in Italian Serie A competition, Inter will be determined not to falter twice in a row at home as we fully expect them to turn it around on Sunday afternoon.
SSC Napoli will have a tough time of it as they travel into one of Italy’s most famous venues at the San Siro in Milan. Led by a talented 27 year old in Jose Callejon, who has netted 4 goals and 1 assist through 6 matches, Napoli have the makings of a top Italian team as they have displayed lately after a weak start to the season. After losing 2 of their first 3 matches, SSC Napoli have found some answers in their last 3 matches winning twice and drawing once. This has put them squarely in top 4 talks as they already sit on the door at 7th overall in the tables. Enjoying good success in away games as shown by their 2 wins, 1 loss game line, Napoli will enter Milan with high hopes that ultimately could come up wanting.

Probable lineups:
Inter Milan: Handanovic – Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan – Nagatomo, Hernanes, Medel, Kovacic, Dodo – Icardi, Palacio
SSC Napoli: Rafael – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Zuniga – David Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne – Higuain.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Premier League 18-10-2014

0 التعليقات

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea - Competition: Premier League

Crystal Palace team have settled in nicely under new manager Neil Warnock. After dropping their first 2 Premier League contests, they strung off 4 straight unbeaten in league play that saw them accumulate all 8 of their points in the new campaign. Signature wins over that stretch included a 3:2 defeat of Everton and a 2:0 home victory over Leicester. However, a return to inconsistent ways just before the international break saw them defeated at the KC Stadium by Hull City 2:0, and Warnock knows his troops must avoid similar slip-ups if they hope to emulate the success of last season. They’ll take encouragement from the fact they’ve only lost 1 of their last 4 English Premier League home games, and with Jason Puncheon looking dangerous per usual on the wing, an upset here is an entirely realistic possibility. However, the visitors are in rare form at the moment, and it would take a monumental effort dashed with a bit of luck for the hosts to pull off the improbable this weekend.
Chelsea have seen just one blip on their schedule this season in the Premier League, although a 1:1 draw to Man City will be taken as a plus by manager Jose Mourinho. They’ve now taken 19 points from a possible 21, and with a 5-point lead on 2nd place already, the title race could be over before Christmas even arrives. A 2:0 victory over London rivals Arsenal FC last time out solidified their position at the pinnacle of England football, and while that match was anything but straightforward, the Blues will take confidence from their clean sheet against such a quality opponent. Diego Costa netted the second goal in that match to seal the outcome, and the Spanish hit-man now has an astonishing 9 goals from just 7 league matches. He has quickly answered questions over how he would adjust to the rigors of the Premier League, but form is fleeting in football and he must stay focused. A short trip to South London and Selhurst Park isn’t always a kind fixture, but the visitors should be bagging all 3 points irregardless.
