Playing at home, Manchester City were eager to pick
up their first win in the competition, but things didn't look bright
when CSKA Moscow went one goal up after just two minutes of play.
That lead didn't last long though as Man City managed to draw level six minutes later with a lovely free kick from Yaya Toure.
The
visitor were not short of confidence and beliefs as they continue to
cause problems for Manuel Pellegrini's men and on 34 minutes Doumbia
regained his team's lead with a fine finish.
Manchester City tried to
push harder after the break, but none of their efforts were fruitful as
things got even worse when they have to end that tie with only nine men
after Fernandino and Yaya Toure were sent off.
