Villarreal vs Barcelona Spanish Primera Division 31-08-2014

0 التعليقات

Villarreal vs Barcelona - Competition: Spanish Primera Division
Like almost every season, experts and fans expect the FC Barcelona to win La Liga. The second place last season, three points behind Campeones Atletico Madrid, was a big disappointment for the successful team in red and blue. In the first round of the Spanish league, they had their home-opener against Elche. Manager Luis Enrique had his liga debut and the crowd at Camp Nou was happy after the game. Luis Enrique made a surprising move by giving 18 year old Munir El Haddadi the opportunity to have his starting eleven debut at home in the first round. This happened because brazilian striker Neymar Junior is still injured and the recently arrived Suarez missed the game because of his “biting suspension”. Like almost every opponent of Barca, Elche tried to establish a stable defense to prevent the big club from scoring. But on that day, Elche couldn`t stop Barca. They controlled the game from the beginning and had some good shots that hit the post (Munir) or the cross-bar (Iniesta). Just before the half-time whistle, super star Messi took control over the ball and after running by three or four opponent players, he beat the goalkeeper with a shot in the lower left corner. Elche tried to react and started an energetic attack right from the kick-off. Elche player Gonzales broke through and was fouled by Mascherano. In the view of the referee he was the last man so Mascherano got sent off. After the break, Munir managed to score his first goal in La Liga, a big moment for the 18-year old youngster. Messi scored again and made it a 3:0 win. A great start into the season and a result that put Barca where they want to be - in first place.
Like their opponents, Villareal had a great start into the new season. They had to play against Levante, a team that finished the last season 4 positions and 11 points behind them. Because of that, the “submarines” got into this game with quite high expectations. They started the match like they wanted to win it during the first five minutes. They showed an active, motivated and aggressive style of football that brought the hosts in trouble early on. Two chances for Cheryshev, one chance missed by Uche and a hard shot from Giovani were the outcome of this dominance. Levante tried to score through counter-attacks, but Villareal could prevent that from happening. But the “submarines” couldn`t score and Levante found into the game after the big pressure in the first 30 minutes. However in the 56th minute, Villareals got what they`ve worked for. Cani found Uche with a nice pass and he beat the goalkeeper on a one-on-one. The goal forced Levante to be more offensive, that provided some space for Villareal to seal the deal. Five miutes before injury time Cheryshev finished off a nice combination and Villareal could celebrate their first three points. Villareal finished the last season on the 6th place and they can cause trouble for many teams in Spain, when in good form.

Goodison Park, Liverpool, United Kingdom

The Toffees have drawn both of their games 2-2 thus far, twice conceding the lead in their opener at Leicester before letting a two goal advantage slip through their fingers in the final 10 minutes last time out against Arsenal.
Lukaku limped off with a foot problem in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal and will be assessed closer to kick off. Arouna Koné, Ross Barkley and Bryan Oviedo  are on the sidelines. Steven Pienaar is ruled out with a groin injury while new boy Christian Atsu is ineligible to face his parent club. New signing Samuel Eto'o is in line to make his debut, but possibly from the bench.
Chelsea enter this game after winning the second league fixture against Premier League newcomers Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, a result that aw the Blues maintain a perfect start to the league campaign.
With Fernando Torres on his way out of the club, Saturday could see Didier Drogba return to the starting line-up to lead the line in Costa's absence. André Schürrle is a doubt with a leg injury, so Willian could start here in midfield. Cesc Fabregas is likely to partner Nemanja Matic in the double-pivot while the new boy Filipe Luis will warm the bench once again.
Everton are undefeated in 26 of their last 29 home matches in the Premier League. Recent league games between these teams have tended to be tight.Last term both games were won 1-0 by the home side.

Probable lineups:
Everton: Howard – Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines – Barry, McCarthy – Mirallas, Osman, Naismith – Lukaku.
Chelsea: Courtois – Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta – Mati?, Fabregas – Ramires, Oscar, Hazard – Diego Costa.

Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid - 25 August, 2014- 19.00 UK KO

Real Madrid 2-0 Cordoba:
1-0 Benzema 30' // 90' Cristiano Ronaldo 2-0

Real Madrid started with Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale upfront while new signings James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos also made their debut in this game.
Real Madrid team were playing at home and were expected to win this game easily and when Karim Benzema scored in 30th minute it looked like homeside will go on to scored more goals but Cordoba held their own and kept themselves in the game throughout the match. Real Madrid had more possesion and better chances but they failed to score until the last moments when Cristiano Ronaldo opened his scoring this season with a typical Ronaldo goal in 90th minute of the game.

Sunderland vs Manchester United EPL August 24, 2014

Sunderland vs Manchester United - Competition: English Premier League

Sunderland team started the new season of the Premier League with a decent result. 2:2 against West Bromwich Albion is not a perfect start but at least it gives hope for the future. The Black Cats managed to score 5 minutes after the start as well as 5 minutes before the end of the match. Sunderland’s manager Gus Poyet has an interesting mixture of youth and experience in his squad – the older ones, more used to the heavy Premier League encounters like John O’Shea, Wes Brown or Andrew Johnson and Sebastian Larsson mixed up with some fresh, young blood like Jack Rodwell, Connor Wickham or Josmer Altidore. This seems to be a very good combination which should reach more than the 14th place from last season. However the game against Manchester United is still quite a challenge – even if the Red Devils are still in crisis.
It seems that even after the change of the manager, Man United performs as bad as last season. Some even say that David Moyes has never gone nowhere, that his spirit is still hanging over Old Trafford. The defeat (1:2 against Swansea City) in the first game of the new season at home hurts badly. And even the beautiful overhead goal scored by Rooney doesn’t sugar it.
Manchester United  have big problems creating any productive offensive actions that can lead to goals just as last season. United bought some interesting players like defenders Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo as well as midfielder Ander Herrera, but only the third one appeared in the first game of the season and was substituted after 67 minutes. Yougster Shaw seems to be not fit enough and Rojo came to Old Trafford afterwards. Louis van Gaal keeps a watchful eye on some top players in Europe but it’s difficult to convince them to join ManU without having Champions League action on the plate. In the upcoming game it’s certain that Manchester will be extremely eager to win and show the whole world that they are not going to sink to average. The list of injuries at Old Traford is quite long – in the game against Sunderlad we will not see: Valencia, Welbeck, Anderson, Shaw, Carrick, Evans and Johnstone.

Sunderland last 5 matches:

Venue: Stadio Antonis Papadopoulos, Lárnaka

Tottenham looking set to make their way into the group stage phase of Europa League after taking an important away victory over AEL Limassol on the first leg of their playoffs battle on Thursday.
Keen on securing their spot in the next stage, Spurs immediately took an attacking initiative as they created several dangerous chances.
However, it was Limassol that made a brighter start as they managed to get ahead with an effort from Adrian Sardinero after only 14 minutes of play.
In the second half, Tottenham were pushing forward vigorously as they were searching for an equalizing goal.
The entrance of Erik Lamele inspired Marucio Pochettino's team to overcome their opponent as the Argentinian made an excellent assist for Spurs' equalizing goal, which was scored by Roberto Soldado on 74 minutes. Tottenham Hotspur eventually turned things around as Harry Kane scored that important winning goal 10 minutes from time.

Real Madrid vs Atlético Madrid Spanish Super Cup 19-08-2014

0 التعليقات
Real Madrid vs Atlético Madrid - Competition: Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid team still want to arm as good as possible for the upcoming start of the Spanish Primera Division. During the preseason period los Blancos played plenty of games. Among others a great match against Manchester United at Michigan Stadium in front of more than 100.000 supporters. However Real lost that game with the score 3:1. Last week the Spaniards travelled to Poland to play against the Italian Fiorentina at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Here once again Real lost the friendly; this time 1:2. The single goal for Madrid was scored by Cristiano Ronaldo with just four minutes on the clock. On the other hand Real could win the UEFA Supercup with a solid 2:0 over Sevilla.
The owners of Real Madrid were very active in the transfer market. They have already strenghtened their club by James Rodriguez, Keylor Navas and Toni  Kroos. It is still not sure whether or not Sami Khedira and Angel di Maria will both stay at Santiago Bernabeu.
After losing Champions League Final and alsmost at the same time winning the Primera Division Atletico Madrid had very successful preseason period. They were very active in that time. Los Rojiblacos have played 7 preseason games, won 5, drew 1 and lost one. After selling Diego Costa to Chelsea London it seemed that Atletico will be having troubles with scoring goals. Quite the opposite is the case – at least so far. Without him, they scored 8 goals in the last 3 matches - 5 against Wolfburg, 1 against Cadiz and 2 against Sampdoria last Saturday. As a replacement for Diego Costa Atletico bought ex-Bayern forward, Mario Mandzukić, who is supposed to fill the gap in their offense. The club from Madrid suffered another loss with the departure, of the goalkeeper Thibaout Courtois (FC Chelsea). But it looks like Jan Oblak is handling the defence pretty well. The biggest transfer success of Diego Simeone is the fact that the core of the team, the most important players – Turan, Gabi, Koke, Tiago, Miranda, Godin – stay in Madrid. However the transfer market isn’t closed yet and Rojiblancos can still lose players as well. In this Supercup final they will definitely seek revenge for the unlucky loss against Real in the CL final last season.

Probable lineups Real Madrid: Casillas – Carvajal, Pepe, S. Ramos, Marcelo – Modric, T. Kroos – Bale, J. Rodriguez, C. Ronaldo – Benzema.
Probable lineups Atletico Madrid: Oblak – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Insua – Gabi, M. Suarez – Koke, Raul Garcia, Griezmann – Mandzukic.

Manchester United vs Swansea 1-2 Highlights 16-08-2014 EPL

0 التعليقات

Manchester United vs Swansea City
Competition: Premier League
Match date: 16 August 2014
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester

Manchester United 1-2 Swansea City:
28' 0-1 Sung-Yueng Ki // 53' Wayne Rooney 1-1 // 72' 1-2 Gylfi Sigurdsson

Man United's ambition to start off their new season with all three points suffered a disappointment as they were surprisingly beaten by Swansea. Starting their season under a new tactician at Old Trafford, there's no other expectation aside from three points especially after their fine form at preseason.
However, apparently results during those friendly games didn't mean much as instead getting themselves in front, United were trailing after 28 minutes when Ki Sung-Yueng opened the scoring for Swansea.
That slender lead lasted until half time break as Man United failed to get an equalizing goal during that first 45 minutes period.
After the break, Man United were pushing hard to get back on level terms and their effort was finally rewarded when Wayne Rooney made it 1-1 on 53 minutes.
Just when it looked like that match were going into Man United's favor, Swansea City strike again as they restored their lead through Gylfi Sigurdsson on 73 minutes. None of Louis Van Gaal's men efforts were successful afterwards as Swansea City holding on to their slender lead and grabbed a historic opening day win over United.

West Ham United vs Tottenham Premier League - August 16, 2014

West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Competition: English Premier League, MatchDay 01

West Ham were very active in this summers transfer window. The Hammers spent 27 mln € on four players. The most expensive was World Cup’s revelation from Ecuador, Enner Valencia (15,00 mln €), the next purchase is Cheikhou Kouyaté from Anderlecht and Mauro Zárate from Argentinian CA Vélez. The last signing is Aaron Cresswell. They also loaned a young defender from Arsenal, Carl Jenkinson. The transfers look pretty well because WHUFC  have not sold any important players. Last season they luckily avoided the relegation gaining points on the last matchdays. I think that the most of West Ham fans were hoping that the club would change the manager during the summer but this didn’t happen. They are spending much more money than their relegation opponents. Unfortunately the most expensive player in the club’s history (Andy Carroll) is injured and they need to play the first few matchdays without him. Also Carl Jenkinson will be missing. They won all 3 matches against Tottenham last season, two in the league and one in the Carling Cup. They did not show themselves in their best shape in the pre-season games.
Tottenham team once again decided to change their coach. It is their 10th manager in the 21th century. The mastermind of a great sensation from Southampton, Mauro Pochettino, was named as the new Spurs’ manager. After a very disappointing season, Spurs were not too active on the transfer market. They know that the players they bought last season for more than 100 mln € have enough quality to fight for the top four. Some believe that the problems the Spurs were struggling with were the effect of a bad managing performance and plenty of injuries. Tottenham played very well in their pre-season matches. It will be pretty difficult but they should manage to be placed higher at the end of the season than in the previous season 2013/14. Speaking about the upcoming game, they lost all three matches against the Hammers last season but now they should be much stronger and they are expected to win this game.

Real Madrid vs Sevilla UEFA Super Cup 12-08-2014

Real Madrid vs Sevilla
Competition: UEFA Super Cup
Match date: Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST - 18:45 GMT
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff, United Kingdom

Real Madrid team finally made it to win the much desired 10th title at the Champions League. La decima is theirs and with this win, they qualified for the UEFA Super Cup final 2014 in Cardiff. Another chance for another title for this prestigious club. They know how it feels like to win the Supercup, though only few players of the current team were there when it happened for the last time. In 2002, after a win against Bayer Leverkusen in the CL-Final it was Zidane, Carlos and some others who raised the trophy in the end. In total it is Real Madrids fourth time in the Super cup final. Back in 1998 they lost to Chelsea FC with 0:1, and in 2000 Galatasaray were the stronger team and made a 2:1 after over time. The last and only win, as already mentioned, happened in 2002 with a 3:1 win over Feyenoord. All these games occurred in Monaco at the Stade Louis II. It will be a special game for Gareth Bale who was born in Cardiff and who will be motivated to win this title at home. Against FC Sevilla, Madrid was able to win 90 times in 172 meetings. Loosing only 53 times.
It was a very successful last year for the FC Sevilla. At the Primera Division they were able to capture a good fifth position and to qualify for the Euro League again. How it feels to win the Euro League trophy, is nothing strange to them. As they won the final against Benfica Lissabon in the last season 2013/14. After a hard way into the final the penalty shootout was needed to find a winner. And Sevilla were the stronger team back then, as they won with 4:2. This victory also meant a ticket for the Super cup final 2014. Just as Real Madrid – Sevilla was able to win the Super cup once. This happened in 2006 when they beat the FC Barcelona with 3:0. The following year they were also in the final, but this time lost 1:3 against AC Milan. Milans manager back then was Madrids current manager Carlo Ancelotti. In ten European meetings with Spanish opponents, Sevilla only managed to win three times, they lost four times and drew three times. In addition, manager Unai Emery was already playing 13 times against Real Madrid with three different teams, and his teams only won three times and lost nine times.

Probable lineups:
Real Madrid: Casillas – Carvajal, Pepe, S.Ramos, Marcelo – Modric, T.Kroos – Bale, J.Rodriguez, C.Ronaldo – Benzema.
FC Sevilla: Beto – Figueiras, Fazio, Carrico, Navarro – Iborra, KRYCHOWIAK – Vitolo, D.Suarez – Aspas, Bacca.

Match date: 10 August 2014

Liverpool continuing their positive preseason trend by snatching another impressive friendly win, this time they defeated Dortmund 4-0 at Anfield.
Eager to show their strength after Luis Suarez's departure, Liverpool immediately took control of that tie as they went one goal up after 10 minutes from Daniel Sturridge's effort.
Brendan Rodgers' men doubling their lead three minutes later, this time from Dejan Lovren's fine header from Steven Gerrard's corner.
After the break, Liverpool kept on pushing forward as they eventually netted a third goal from Philippe Coutinho's fine finish. Already leading 3-0, the Reds were not done yet though as they added a fourth goal on 61 minutes through Jordan Henderson.

Stade Reims vs Paris Saint Germain
Competition: French Ligue 1
Match date: 08 August 2014
Kick Off Time: 18:30 GMT
Venue: Stade Auguste Delaune, Reims, France

Reims finished the last years season 2013/14 on an eleventh position. They were able to collect 48 points and played a pretty average season with 12 wins 12 draws and 14 losses. The distance between them and the relegation ranks were 8 points. They will now meet the reigning champions in game one. If this is an advantage is at least questionable. Last season playing with PSG they lost twice with 0:3. But there is no need for desperation, the last win against PSG dates from 2013, when they were able to beat them with 1:0 playing at home. However the last test matches have not been terrific. Against the FC Loriont they played 1:1 just as against the FC Metz some days before. They even lost one of their last three games against the fifth league club – ASNL with 0:1.
The French champion of the past two years – PSG – has not yet finished its transfer-plans for the new season. The questions that remain still are: who else will leave the club and who will be transferred to PSG? Maybe Angel di Maria? At least the international press assumes this. But in fact there is no time for questioning, the French season kicks off on Friday the 8th and Paris will have to travel to Stade Reims. Therefore they will be eager to win this first encounter and to have a good start in the new season. Actually they already won their first title at the „Trophée des Champions 2014“ against EA Guingamp with 2:0. Superstar Ibrahimovic scored twice and the match was almost won after 20 minutes. In addition PSG had to play in Hongkong against Kitchee, where they also won with a fabulous 6:2. Some days before Nicce was beaten with a 2:1. They seem to be well prepared for the start of the Ligue 1 season 2014/15.

Probable lineups:
Stade Reims: Agassa – Mandi, Weber, Tacalfred, Signorino – Oniangue, Bourillon, Devaux – Moukandjo, Charbonnier, Diego
Paris Saint-Germain: Sirigu – Aurier, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Digne – Matuidi, Cabaye, Verratti – Lucas, Ibrahimovic, Cavani

Celtic FC vs Legia Warsaw Champions League 06-08-2014

Celtic FC vs Legia Warsaw - Champions League 2014-15
BT Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Wednesday, 06 August 2014 20:45

Celtic saw their Champions League hopes take a devastating blow in the first-leg, as they were outplayed all over the pitch in a 4:1 defeat. A red card to Efe Ambrose on the stroke of halftime meant Celtic needed to do some damage control in the second half. But unfortunately for new manager Ronny Deila, his boys were simply off the pace in the Polish capital. The lone bright spot for the Scottish club was the fact that they didn’t lose by even more, as Ivica Vrdoljak missed two penalty kicks with the latter one being saved by coveted goalkeeper Fraser Forster. This result will give fans even more reason to call for activity in the transfer market, and perhaps after their performance against Legia, those calls are completely warranted and necessary. But the hosts do still have a glimmer of hope behind a critical away goal and a return to the friendlier confines of Scotland. Celtic went unconquered at home last season in the Scottish Premiership, winning 16 of their 19 games, and while improbable, it wouldn’t be a farfetched proposition of them turning around this deficit in Edinburgh.
Legia Warsaw team stated their intent with a commanding performance in the first-leg, treating their home fans to a 4:1 thrashing of the Scottish champions. Veteran attacker Miroslav Radovic equalized the match just two minutes after going down in the early going and then fired his side in front ten minutes from halftime. The Serbian led the Polish champions in goals last season, netting 13 times in league play (4th place in the rankings), but he also demonstrated his more generous side when setting up the third goal for his teammate Micha Zyro, and the rout was on. If a negative can be taken from the match, it was the two missed penalty kicks from Ivica Vrdoljak, but all is forgiven when your teammates bail you out with a masterful performance. But the visitors must stay grounded here, as Celtic are very good at home in front of their rabid fan base. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Norwegian manager Henning Berg opt for a more cautious approach with such a large lead, bunkering back in defence and hoping to grab a decisive goal on the counter attack.

Probable lineups Celtic: Forster – Lustig, van Dijk, Mulgrew, Izaguirre – Johansen, Kayal – McGregor, Commons, Berget – Pukki.
Probable lineups Legia Warsaw: Kuciak – Broz, Astiz, Rzezniczak, Brzyski – Vrdoljak, Jodlowiec – Zyro, Duda, Kucharczyk – Radovic.

PSG vs Guingamp Trophée des Champions 01-08-2014

0 التعليقات
Paris Saint-Germain vs Guingamp
Competition: France − Trophée des Champions − 2014 − Final
Match date: 01 Aug 2014
Kick Off Time: 12:00 GMT

PSG get set to kick off competitive play for the 2014-2015 season and will see out their first official match this weekend in the Trophee des Champions against Guingamp. They qualified for the single-match final by claiming the 2013-2014 Ligue 1 title, finishing a comfortable 9 points above AS Monaco, thanks in large part to the 26 league goals that Swedish international Ibrahimovic tallied up. The powerful hit-man is one of the best in the world at his trade, and he proved so yet again last time out with a hat-trick in their 6:2 friendly defeat of Hong Kong-based club Kitchee. The forward is in ominous form, and Sweden’s exclusion from the 2014 World Cup has him refreshed and raring to go for the new campaign. Young phenom Jean-Christophe Bahebeck meanwhile has spent the last two seasons out on loan from the French club, but after netting in every pre-season match thus far, manager Laurant Blanc has a welcome headache of a decision on his mind. The youngster very well could see the starting XI here for the cup match.
Guingamp fell to a disappointing yet relieving 16th place finish in Ligue 1 last season, barely staving off relegation by just 2 points. Solid home form that saw them bag 28 of their 42 points ultimately saved them, as 6 vital points from 2 home matches in the late going proved critical to their safety. However, for purposes of this contest, they were simply woeful on the road, and while this match will be played in Beijing, they still tend to play a lower quality of football outside the Stade de Roudourou. While they did win 4 straight road games in last season’s Coupe de France, they were all against lower level competition. That said, an impressive victory over AS Monaco in the semi-finals in which leading goal scorer Mustapha Yatabare netted two of their three goals demonstrated this side’s ability to pull off an upset. However, that is a tough ask against a far and away more talented roster in this weekend’s opponent from the French capital.

Probable lineups Paris Saint-Germain: Sirigu – Aurier, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Digne – Thiago Motta, Cabaye, Matuidi – Lucas, Cavani, Ibrahimovic.
Probable lineups Guingamp: Samassa – Baca, Angoua, Sorbon, Lemaitre – Diallo, Sankhare – Beauvue, Marveaux – Yatabare, Schwartz.
