Juventus team could move to the top of the league standings for the first
time this season. The Bianconeri sit 2 points behind Napoli after 14
consecutive league victories. It is a sequence that has seen them move
up from 11th in the league to 2nd. They have conceded just once in the
previous nine games and kept seven consecutive clean sheets. Khedira, Mandzukic, Martin Caceres and Giorgio Chiellini are all
sidelined. As consequence, Massimiliano Allegri is likely to play with a
4-4-2 formation with Dybala and Morata up-front. Roberto Pereyra and
Stefano Sturaro should play as midfield wingers with Paul Pogba and
Claudio Marchisio in the middle of the park.
SSC Napoli currently lead the way with 56 points in the bank thanks to a record of 17 wins, five draws and just two defeats from their opening 24 matches. The Partenopei have eight successive victories to their name after a hard fought 1-0 triumph over Carpi last weekend. Their last defeat in Italian Serie A took place in week 15 when they were turned over 3-2 away at Bologna. Gonzalo Higuain has been in sublime form this season, having scored as many as 24 goals in as many Serie A games
New signing Alberto Grassi is the only injured player, so manager Maurizio Sarri will go with his typical XI, with Jorginho back from suspension and ready to play. The likes of Callejon, Insigne and Higuain will lead the line while Allan and Hamsik will provide support from midfield. Mertens and Gabbiadini could play at some stage during the second half.
Napoli team have already taken three points off Juventus this season as they beat the Old Lady 2-1 success at the Stadio San Paolo in matchday 6. The Bianconeri are undefeated in their last 5 home matches against SSC Napoli and have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 home matches clashes against the Partenopei in all competitions.
