Manchester City were looking to take control of things early
on with their new signing, Sterling being the main attacking
threat.
Sterling didn't take long to show his potential as he opened the scoring for Manchester City after just three minutes of play. That lead didn't last too long though as five minutes later, AS Roma equalized with a long range strike from Miralem Pjanic.
After
the break, despite doing a host of changes, both sides still look
competitive as Man City once again got themselves in front, this time
through Kelechi Iheanacho on 51 minutes.
The Italian side refused
to give up though as they got back on level terms for the second time,
through Llajic three minutes from time. That match have to be
settled with a penalty shoot out and it was Manchester City that came out on
top when Joe Hart saved Seydou Keita's kick.
