Juventus team have been the elite club of the Serie A
for the last couple seasons. They are well coached and show a certain
chemistry that leaves many teams bewildered when coming against them. In
their last league match with Cagliari, they managed a solid 3-1 away
win with a fine goal from Argentine striker Tevez, immediately followed by closing goals from Arturo Vidal and Llorente.
At the end of the December schedule however, Juventus FC lost 2-2 in the
Italian Cup to Napoli at home in a grueling match that finished in
penalties. This blemish was surprising considering they are undefeated in regular Italian Serie A play at home over their last 35 games.
They will be rested fully entering Tuesday’s clash with Inter
after the break, and they will extend their winning streak against them
following a 3-1 victory in Juventus Stadium last February. At home after 7 matches, Juventus have won 6 with 20 goals scored against a measly 4 allowed. They will utilize the talents of Giorgio Chiellini
from the defensive side to put the stop on Inters counterattack,
ultimately coming close to a shutout against the inferior visiting
opponent. Expect through balls to put an end to Inters defensive hopes
as Juventus’ striker Carlos Tevez puts this one away come the final
whistle.
Inter team enter Tuesday’s clash at the Juventus
Stadium with high hopes of turning around their season following the new
year. Their last match was played over the break in a club friendly in
Paris against French powerhouse PSG where they lost 0-1 in a close
fought battle. Outside of this friendly, over their previous 3 competitive matches, Inter have not lost including a solid 2-0 away win
in their last road match at Chievo Verona. This success isn’t going to
help them in the tables much though as only 1 of these 3 games was a
win. The return of former star manager Roberto Mancini has not paid off
as nicely as fans originally hoped. It will take time to swing this
squad in the right direction and the transfer window should help this
talented young team so don’t be to quick to rule out Mancini being
successful quite yet. Inter will need their brightest young striker, Mauro Icardi, to add to his 8 goals in 16 league games if they are to stand a chance against the likes of Juventus. With only 2 wins and 7 goals scored in 8 away league games, Inter will struggle as expected against the brass of the Italian League on Tuesday evening.
