Atletico Madrid vs Juventus Champions League - October 1, 2014

Atletico Madrid vs Juventus
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Match date: 1 October 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Estadio Vicente Calderon, Madrid

The current Spanish champions haven’t start this campaign as they did last year as they lost their first European match against Olympiakos by 3-2 and have dropped several points in the Liga and they sit two points off the pace being set by JUVENTUS. Anyway, they have they have recovered domestically the 'Greek tragedy' with back-to-back wins (with a 4-0 away win at Sevilla as last result), but that defeat means they have to get a result here.
Gabi Fernandez is doubtful and he will be assessed on the match day and Mario Mandzukic will play with a protective mask on his broken nose, but Diego Simeone has no other concerns ahead of the Juventus game. Raul Garcia could partner the Croatian international, though Jimenez is another option along with Griezmann.
Juventus are still flawless in the Serie A winning all of their first five matches in the league. What is even more impressive is that they have not allowed a single goal in league play and kept a clean sheet in their CL group-stage opener with Malmoe. Last season Juve failed to book their place in the knockout stages of the elite competition as they were beaten by Galatasaray in the ultimate battle
Juventus will not have defenders Marrone and Barzagli, but Ogbonna, Bonucci and Chiellini are solid players and will show quality. Andrea Pirlo is out but Martin Caceres has made the squad and stands a chance of playing. Arturo Vidal is fully fit and the Chilean midfielder is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up.
In their last 20 matches in Spain, Juventus have just three wins. The Calderon has proved a fortress for Atleti in recent history with five wins and a draw in their Champions League fixtures last season and 17 wins in their past 19 home matches in Uefa competitions.

Probable lineups:
Atletico Madrid: Moya – Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Ansaldi – Gabi, Tiago – Koke, Raul Garcia, Turan – Mandzukic .
Juventus: Buffon – Ogbonna, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Vidal, Asamoah – Morata, Tevez.

Inter Milan vs Cagliari
Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 28 September 2014
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milano

Inter Milan 1-4 Cagliari:
10' 0-1 Sau M. // 18' 1-1 Osvaldo // 29' 1-2 Ekdal A. // 34' 1-3 Ekdal A. // 44' 1-4 Ekdal A.

Nerazzurri were among a few sides that remain undefeated ahead of their weekend tie, not to mention having a positive record at home. However, signs of trouble occurred early in the first 45 minutes as Cagliari managed to get themselves in front on 10 minutes through Marco Sau.
The home side did manage to get back on level terms though when Pablo Osvaldo equalized eight minutes later. However, red card to Yuto Nagatome made things hard for Inter Milan as they found themselves trailing again when Albin Ekdal scored Cagliari's second on 29 minutes.
The Swedish midfielder continue to cause problems for Walter Mazzarri's men as he bagged his second on 34 minutes. After missing out on a penalty, Cagliari completed their dominant performance over their opponent by scoring a fourth goal, which was once again netted by Ekdal.
Things could got worse for Inter after the break, but Zdenek Zeman's men failed to convert some of their chances, though 4-1 result was already disappointing enough for Nerazzurri.

-Real Madrid – Gareth Bale 20' // Cristiano Ronaldo (pen) 28' // Cristiano Ronaldo 32 ' // Cristiano Ronaldo (pen) 80' // Cristiano Ronaldo 90'
-Elche – Edu Albacar (pen) 15'

Real Madrid continuing their recent winning streak as this midweek Carlo Ancelotti's men grabbed an important home victory over Elche.
Playing at Santiago Bernebau, Los Blancos were shocked as they found themselves trailing after just 15 minutes of play through Edu Albacar's spot kick. However, that lead only lasted for about five minutes as Madrid hit back through Gareth Bale's effort, before turning things around on 28 minutes from Cristiano Ronaldo's spot kick. The Portuguese international was on his goal scoring mode as he netted his team's fourth on 32 minutes, giving Madrid a comfortable 3-1 lead as they go into half time break.
It was still Ronaldo's show after the break as he added two more goals in that second period, converting another penalty on 80 minutes, before finishing off an assist from Bale in stoppage time.

Manchester City vs Chelsea EPL September 21, 2014

Manchester City vs Chelsea - Competition: English Premier League, Matchday 5

Man City enter this match having not won a game for nearly a month. A shock 1:0 defeat at home to Stoke City will have Manuel Pelligrini scratching his head, a 2:2 draw at Arsenal was a solid result, but defeat came again in the form of a stern Bayern Munich side over the midweek. City held strong in that contest and were perhaps a bit unfortunate to not come away with at least a point. But so goes the unforgiving sport of football, and the Citizens will need to quickly forget their recent woes quickly for a critically-important match-up with Chelsea FC. These clubs are the two league favorites to claim the English Premier League crown, and the players know that defeat here at the Etihad Stadium would be a massive detriment to their title defence. They will take confidence in the fact that they are unbeaten in 28 of their last 31 Premier League matches, but one of those defeats came at the hands of the Blues just last season. Branislav Ivanovic netted the lone-goal match winner in that meeting, and the Citizens will need to be wise to the Serbian, who is perhaps the best right-back in all of England. But the visitors have so many weapons, and if the hosts hope to claim a victory here, they’ll need Sergio Aguero to be in highlight form.
Chelsea team saw their 4-match winning streak snapped over the midweek in the Champions League, getting upset on home turf by Schalke (1:1). It’s exactly the thing that worries their fans over recent memory, as the Blues tend to overlook opponents they’re supposed to beat. To be fair to Schalke, they played an extraordinary match, but the Blues arguably have no holes in their team in terms of squad depth and talent. Manager Jose Mourinho will demand a strong response in their return to league play, and the boys will be bolstered by the return of Diego Costa to the starting line-up. In last season’s trip to the Etihad Stadium, the visitors claimed all 3 points in shutout fashion, and they’ll be confident of doing so here once again. However, playmaker Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, the two main catalysts this season in Chelsea’s surge, will find that Man City are no picnic with the likes of Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany hounding the two all day long. We do expect them to break through the City defence once or twice in an entertaining affair, but knowing Jose Mourinho, he’ll prefer to play for the away draw than to risk it all and go for the win in the event the match stays tight into the second half.

AC Milan vs Juventus Italian Serie A 20-09-2014

AC Milan vs Juventus - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 20 September 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST - 18:45 GMT
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan

AC Milan have drawn praise for their start to the season. Firing on all cylinders with 8 goals in just 2 games, they now sit atop the Italian Serie A in 1st place. The start to the season is in stark contrast to that of last term, when the Rossoneri accumulated a paltry 19 points in the first half of the year. They went on to enjoy a much-improved second half however, finishing with 57 points and a top half of the table finish (8th). But surprisingly, it wasn’t enough for former player Clarence Seedorf to keep his job, and the experiment ended when they terminated his contract in June 2014. But in steps Filippo Inzaghi, also a former Milan player, who moved quickly in the transfer window to secure some strong signings. Adil Rami, Pablo Ramero, and Nigel de Jong were brought in to sure up the defensive side of the ball, while Marco van Ginkel, Fernando Torres, and Jeremy Menez were added to a much-improved attack. Menez netted a brace last time out, and it appears the Rossoneri are once again on the up. However, they aren’t at Juventus’ standard yet, and a draw at home would likely be taken gladly by Inzaghi and his men, especially considering they look set to be without last match’s starting centre-back duo Alex (injury) and Daniele Mendez (suspension) as well as starting goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
Juventus team enter the third matchweek in an unfamiliar 2nd place spot. But that is only due to point differential and they will look to make a strong statement to Milan that they are no longer the top dogs in Serie A. While they haven’t looked overly impressive in their start to the season, they’ve still managed to win all 3 of their competitive matches while shutting out every opponent. They now have 7 straight clean sheets in all competitions dating back to last season, but that streak will come under fire here against the new-look Rossoneri who have scored 8 goals in 2 contests. Furthermore, the visitors will still be without their top defender in Giorgio Chiellini due to suspension, and both Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo are questionable for this match. However, the former looks set to give it a go and will face a late fitness test, and his presence would be a critical boon for the Old Lady. Over the midweek, Juventus dispatched Malmo FF in Champions League action, seeing Carlos Tevez net both goals in a 2:0 victory. That performance will lend the Argentinian a big confidence boost headed into the weekend, and that could spell trouble for a potentially absent-riddled defence for the hosts.

Probable lineups:
AC Milan: Abbiati – Abate, Rami, Zapata, de Sciglio – Poli, de Jong, Muntari – Honda, Menez, Bonaventura
Juventus: Buffon – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Pereyra, Asamoah – Llorente, Tevez.

Bayern Munchen vs Manchester City Champions League September 17, 2014

Bayern Munchen vs Manchester City
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Match date: 17 September 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Allianz-Arena, Munchen
Seven players of Bayern Munich became world champions with Germany this summer. Toni Kroos left to Real Madrid afterwards, the others do not seem fully fit and motivated currently, why coach Pep Guardiola tried several new players and different formations. It is hard to know which team will start on Wednesday. 26-million Euro signing Mehdi Benatia will probably play in defensive midfield on the side of Xabi Alonso as Schweinsteiger, Thiago and Javier Martinez are injured. It is not sure, if Arjen Robben will be able to play, at least Franck Ribery returned from injury last week and already scored a goal when Bayern beat Stuttgart 2:0 on Saturday in Bundesliga. In this match central defender Holger Badstuber got injured, he will most probably miss the encounter on Wednesday. The FCB won two of the three games in Bundesliga this season but never looked totally convincing.
Club owner Sheikh Mansour invested endless money into Man City the recent years, so the ‘Citizens’ won the English Premier League twice within the last three years but in Champions League they did not survive the group stage three and two years ago, got knocked out in the Round of 16 last season. Due to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play they could not invest as much money as usual this summer, Eliaquim Mangala (40 million) and Fernando (15 million, both from Porto) were the only two considerable signings. However, the squad is of outstanding quality anyway, especially up front, where they have class players like Yaya Touré, David Silva, Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko or Kun Agüero. In the back Mangala might replace the former Bayern defender Demichelis who seemed a bit insecure recently. Manchester City drew 2:2 at Arsenal on Saturday and will face Chelsea in the Premier League next Sunday.
Probable lineups:
Bayern Munich: Neuer – Lahm, Boateng, Dante, J. Bernat – Xabi Alonso, Alaba – T. Muller, M. Gotze, Ribery – Lewandowski.
Manchester City: Hart – Sagna, Kompany, Demichelis, Kolarov – Fernandinho, Yaya Toure – Navas, Nasri, Silva – Aguero (Dzeko).

Real Madrid vs FC Basel UEFA Champions League 16-09-2014

0 التعليقات

Real Madrid vs FC Basel - Competition: UEFA Champions League

Real Madrids season so far has been quite rich in variety. After many changes in their team, Carlo Ancelotti seems to need some more time to find the best mix for the „white ballet“. They started the season with a win at the UEFA Super Cup against Euro League winner FC Sevilla. This victory was followed by two games in the Spanish Supercopa against Atletico Madrid. With a draw at home and a 0:1 loss on the road, they were beaten by their city rivals.
Their kick off at the Primera Division was successful then, as expected. Cordoba was beaten with 2:0, Benzema and Ronaldo scored the goals. The second league game seemed to go in the same direction but after a 2:0 lead against Sociedad they surprisingly received 4 goals and were beaten with 2:4. This performance was rather embarrassing and was linked to the missing of Ronaldo. But even without him they should have won this game with such an early lead. Before the Champions League starts they had to play against Atletico again on the weekend. And this time they even lost at home (0:1) what already puts a lot of pressure on them to start the Champions League with a win!
The next weeks for Basel will become pretty intense. Just a couple of days before the Champions League kicks off they had to play against long time rivals Grasshoppers Zurich on the weekend. This game lead to the second defeat of Basel this season and it was a quite clear one (3:1). The CL will then be followed by a game in the Swiss cup, another league game and the second meeting at the Champions League 2014/15 with the Liverpool FC at home. But they seem to be well prepared. The first round in the Swiss cup was won with 4:0. The first 4 games at the Swiss Super League 2014/15 were also won by Basel, only interrupted by a loss against St. Gallen. But this was just an accident and the last two games ended with another two wins for last years champions. One of the reasons for this successful run is for sure the newly signed Shkelzen Gashi. The left winger already scored 4 times and assisted another three Basel goals. Along with Streller (4 goals) he is a massive danger for their opponents defenses. In the loss against the Grasshoppers they may have already been at the Champions League with their minds. We will see how they will cope with Ramos, Pepe & Co at their CL kickoff on Tuesday.

Manchester United vs QPR 4-0 Highlights 2014 Premier League

Manchester United vs Queens Park Rangers
Competition: Premier League
Match date: 14 September 2014
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester

Manchester United 4-0 Queens Park Rangers:
1-0 Di Maria 24' // 2-0 Ander Herrera 36' // 3-0 Rooney 45' // 4-0 Mata 58'

Man United finally got themselves back on winning ways after grabbing an important home win over Queens Park Rangers.
Being able to play most of their new signings, Man United were looking determined in getting their first three points this season. Dominating the tie since kick off, United finally got things going when Angel Di Maria opened the scoring on 24 minutes.
That opener gave more confidence on the home team as they continue to drive forward and eventually doubling their lead on 34 minutes through Andre Herrera.
Wayne Rooney sealed Man United's full dominance on that first 45 minutes by scoring the third goal just before half time break.
In the second period, Man United still keeping their pressure on and managed to add a fourth from Juan Mata on 58 minutes. No more goals were scored though afterwards, despite several chances were created by both sides, including one golden chance for United's famous summer arrival, Radamel Falcao, who couldn't mark his debut with a goal.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Premier League September 13, 2014

0 التعليقات
Arsenal vs Manchester City - Competition: English Premier League

Arsenal FC come off the international break in 7th place of the English Premier League, sitting 4 points adrift the league leaders. The month of August saw the Gunners go unbeaten in 5 matches in all competitions, but they admittedly left much to be desired in draws against Besiktas and Leicester, as well as in narrow victories over Crystal Palace and Besiktas (2nd leg). They’ve played well in patches, but the finished product hasn’t quite molded together. This is in large part due to the long-term injury to Olivier Giroud, leaving Arsenal exposed up top with a raw athlete in Yaya Sanogo. However, transfer deadline day brought its usual madness, as the Gunners took advantage of Man United’s pricey loan move for Radamel Falcao, poaching youngster but experienced forward Danny Welbeck. The Englishman will get his shot at being a daily striker for the North London club, and his pace, power, and athleticism could end up being a critical boon for their attack. His finishing has left much to be desired in recent years, but with the assurance of plenty of opportunities at striker with Giroud out until 2015, he may be able to discover his goal-scoring confidence and touch. Furthermore, Welbeck netted both goals for England in their opening match of Euro Qualifying against a good Switzerland side, so confidence will be high here at the Emirates. But the fact remains that Arsenal simply struggled against the big boys as usual last season, and with Theo Walcott set to miss out once again (he has returned to full training), a victory is an unlikely scenario for the hosts.
Man City lost ground on Chelsea just before the international break, shockingly falling in defeat to Stoke City 1:0. While Stoke are a strong home team, their road form has always been rather average, making the result all the more strange, especially considering the Citizens lost just once at home last season in league action. Manuel Pellegrini’s men began the season as expected, claiming all 3 points at St. James’ Park and then comfortably handling Liverpool 3:1 behind 2 good goals from Stevan Jovetic. But the loss to the Potters was potentially critical, as they now must face Arsenal on the road, Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Chelsea at home, and then defend their title in the Capital One Cup. Therefore, the players know a positive result here at the Emirates Stadium is crucial, and with a fully-fit Sergio Aguero, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them claim all 3 points. However, Demichelis has been really poor so far in the back, and it seems only a matter of time before Eliaquim Mangala gets his shot. The Argentine should start here, but he could end up proving to be a liability for the Citizen defence. But Vincent Kompany is arguably the top defender in the Premier League, and the Citizens do have recent history on their side, losing just once to Arsenal in their last 8 competitive matches.

Czech Republic vs Netherlands 2-1 Highlights UEFA Euro Qualifying

Czech Republic 2-1 Netherlands (Group A)
21' Borek Dockal 1-0 // 55' 1-1 Stefan de Vrij // 90' Vaclav Pilar 2-1

Netherlands' ambition to pick up their first win in the Euro 2016 qualifier after suffering a disappointing away defeat from Czech Republic.
Keen on snatching a win under Guus Hiddink's reign, Dutch tried to take control of proceedings, but they were facing tough challenges from Czech.
The home side put on a solid display and managed to get themselves in front on 21 minutes from Borek Dockal's effort.
That lead lasted until half time break as the Dutch failed to snatch any equalizing goal during the first 45 minutes period. After the break, Netherlands works hard in getting themselves back into that tie and their effort was rewarded when Stefan De Vrij equalized with a fine header on 55 minutes.
However, it was the home side that came away with all three points when a defensive error allowed Vaclav Pilar to snatch the winner in stoppage time.

Czech Republic starting lineup vs Netherlands 2014 qualifier:- Cech, Kaderabek, Prochazka, Kadlec, Limbersky, Darida, Vacha, Dockal, Rosicky, Krejci, Lafata.

Norway vs Italy Euro 2016 qualifiers - September 9, 2014

Norway vs Italy - Competition: UEFA Euro Qualifying, Group H
Match date: Tuesday, 09 September 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Ullevaal Stadion, Oslo, Norway

In their first game in the EC Qualifications Norway face the biggest favorites of the Group and probably even one of the favorites for the title in France 2016. Last week the Norwegian team played a test game against another top European side, England. The game at Wembley Stadium ended with a close loss. The hosts won the game 1:0 only after Rooney’s penalty shot. The game was uninspiring from both sides. Next month the national teams will play two EC qualification games. The Norwegians are set first to compete against Malta and after a few days against Bulgaria. This year Norway played seven games and won only one of them. Actually it was their first game of 2014 when they won 2:1 against Moldavia. Then the record got much worse since Norway lost and drew three games respectively. They lost against Poland, France and England. The draws came against Czech Republic, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
Italy team are the favourites of Group H of the European Championship Qualifiers. The last game of the Italian national team was the debut for Antonio Conte as their coach. On the 4th of September the Italians hosted the Netherlands. At stadio Comunale San Nicola in Bari the team won against the visitors 2:0. The score had already been set just after 10 minutes. Just at the beginning of the match Immobile scored the opening goal. A few minutes later the referee sent off Martins Indi and awarded the Italians with a penalty, which de Rossi converted into a goal and made it 2:0. Unfortunately for Antonio Conte his team must now play without the key defender Giorgio Chiellini, who has been ruled out of their opening game due to a calf injury. Questionable is also the appearance of Stephen El Shaarawy. Suspended are Mario Balotelli and midfielder Claudio Marchisio. Worth mentioning is the new attacking duo of Ciro Immobile and Simone Zaza that worked very well against the Dutch.

Norway last 5 matches:
05/03/14 Czech Republic 2 – 2 Norway

Germany vs Scotland UEFA Euro Qualifying 07-09-2014

Germany vs Scotland
Competition: UEFA Euro Qualifying, Group D
Match date: Sunday, 7 September 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST - 18:45 GMT
Venue: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany

Germany lost the first match after the World Cup final 2:4 at home on Wednesday, and it was Yes! Argentina who beat them. Actually the Germans started to this friendly with only four finalists. Captain Philipp Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Per Mertesacker retired after the World Cup, the new captain Bastian Schweinsteiger, Sami Khedira, Jérôme Boateng, Mats Hummels, Mesut Özil and Shkodran Mustafi were all injured. So it was not a big surprise that the newly constituted defence had huge problems, conceded four goals within the first 50 minutes. However, against Scotland we will see a different German side, Jérôme Boateng will return, also Thomas Müller and Mario Götze will play from the beginning. Because of the injury problems coach Joachim Löw nominated Sidney Sam (Schalke) for the match on Sunday.
Scotland team could not qualify for a major tournament since the World Cup 1998. The Scottish clubs currently face difficult times, but since Gordon Strachan has become national coach in January 2013 the ‘Bravehearts’ appear to make progress, are currently unbeaten for six games. Actually they kept clean sheets in four of the last five games, won friendlies in Poland and Norway 1:0 recently, also gained a 2:2 in Nigeria’s last World Cup test in May. This match has been Scotland’s last run-out so far, since then the two key midfielders Robert Snodgrass and captain Scott Brown became injured, will not be not be able to play in Dortmund as well as the defenders Andrew Robertson and Christophe Berra. Several players of Gordon’s squad already displayed good form so far this season, striker Steven Naismith even scored in all three Premier League games for Everton while Chris Martin marked the 1:0 winner for Fulham last week.

Probable lineups:
Germany: Neuer – Groskreutz, Howedes, J. Boateng, Durm – Kramer, T. Kroos – T. Muller, Reus, Schurrle – M. Gotze
Scotland: McGregor – Hutton, Hanley, R. Martin, Whittaker – D. Fletcher, McArthur – Maloney, J. Morrison, Bannan – Naismith

Germany last 5 matches:

Germany vs Argentina 2-4 Highlights 2014 International Friendly

0 التعليقات

Espirit Arena, Dusseldorf - 3 September, 2014 - International Friendly Matches

Goals: Germany – Andre Schurrle 52, Mario Gotze 78; Argentina – Sergio Aguero 20, Erik Lamela 40, Federico Fernandez 47, Angel Di Maria 50;

Playing under a new head coach, Albiceleste were keen on showcasing a positive performance even without Lionel Messi's presence. Angel Di Maria was putting on an excellent showcase in that match as he inspired his teammates to pay an attacking display against Germany. The new Man United man showed his influence by giving out a lovely assist that led into Sergio Aguero's goal on 20 minutes.
