Manchester City vs Real Madrid 26-04-2016 Champions League - Semi Finals

0 التعليقات
Manchester City vs Real Madrid
Competition: Champions League 2015-16 (Semi Finals)
Date: Tuesday, 26 April 2016 - Time: 18:45 GMT
Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, United Kingdom
Referee: C. Çakιr

Man City team hammered Stoke City 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium with a minimum of fuss at the weekend. They have hit good form just at the right time and are unbeaten in their last seven in all competitions. In UCL, the Citizens beat PSG in the quarter-finals to move into the last four of Europe's premier competition for the first time. They have only won one of their four home games in the knockout stages, against PSG (D1 L2). Their only home defeat this season came against Juventus in the opening day of the tournament.
Yaya Toure picked up a thigh injury against Stoke City and will face a fitness test while captain Vincent Kompany is still making his way back from injury to full fitness. Bacary Sagna has spent most of the season as Manuel Pellegrini's first choice right-back, but he has missed their last two matches because of injury and Pablo Zabaleto is expected to replace the Frenchman. Up front Sergio Aguero will lead the line, while David Silva, Jesus Navas and Kevin De Bruyn will form the offensive midfield trio.
Real Madrid team came from 2 goals down and were 2-3 winners away at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga last weekend and, in addition to moving them to within a point of Barcelona at the top of the league table, that result marked the occasion of Real’s fifth win in a row and their 11th victory in their last 12 matches in all competitions. Their only slip came when the Galacticos were beaten 2-0 away in the first leg of their quarter-final tie against Vfl Wolfsburg. They advance to the semifinals thanks to a second-leg hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Zidane has slight concerns over  Dani Carvajal and Benzema, as well as Ronaldo who missed at the weekend. Brazilian midfieldere Casemiro also missed the win over Rayo through suspension but will start at the Etihad. Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo look sure to start in attack, while Lucas Vazquez and Jese Rodriguez are in contention for the remaining spot should Benzema fail to recover in time.
Man City and Real Madrid's only previous competitive encounter was in the 2012-13 Champions League group stages. The Merengues won 3-2 at the Bernabeu before a 1-1 draw at Etihad Stadium.

Probable lineups:
Manchester City: Hart – Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Clichy – Fernando, Fernandinho – J.Navas, de Bruyne, Silva – Aguero.
Real Madrid: Navas – Danilo, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo – T.Kroos, Casemiro, Modri? – Ronaldo, Bale, Isco.

Chelsea vs Manchester City Premier League - April 16, 2016

0 التعليقات

Chelsea vs Manchester City - Competition: English Premier League

Chelsea team lost to Swansea City last weekend and the Blues are already looking forward to next season with nothing left to play for. The Blues have won only five of their home games this season, with no less than 11 clubs leaving Stamford Bridge with at least a point. Hiddink's men can still boast an 8 unbeaten record at home, but they won just 2 out of those as 6 of those were draws.
Guus Hiddink will have Diego Costa following the forward's three match suspension. John Terry had treatment on an Achilles injury and will certainly not be available. He will be replaced by Branislav Ivanovic while Kenedy will cover the righ back position. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has started the last two matches in the number ten role in the 4-2-3-1 formation and may keep his place in the side. Nemanja Matic is available, whereas Eden Hazard is 50/50. They are expected to start on the bench.
Man City booked their place in the UCL semi-finals with a 1-0 second-leg win over Paris-SG on Tuesday night. Pellegrini’s side currently occupy the final qualifying spot in Premier League and their qualification for next season’s competition is far from secure. The Citizens followed up their emphatic 4-0 win over Bournemouth with a 2-1 triumph at home West Brom.
Manuel Pellegrini is without David Silva for the trip to Stamford Bridge. Yaya Toure was benched for their clash against PSG following a knee injury and should be replaced by Jesus Navas once again. Raheem Sterling is also still ruled out through injury. In defense, Vincent Kompany is losing his race to be fit and this means that Otamendi and Mangala will retain their starting berth.
Chelsea thrashed City 5-1 when they met last, but that saw Manuel Pellegrini field a team of youngsters in the English FA Cup. The reverse fixture was a 3-0 City win at the Etihad Stadium on August 16.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona 13-04-2016 Champions League

0 التعليقات
Atletico Madrid vs FC Barcelona - Champions League (Quarter Finals)

In La Liga, Atletico Madrid team closed the gap on league leaders FC Barcelona to just three points by beating 3-1 Espanyol at the weekend. Following the 1-2 defeat suffered in the first leg, the Colchoneros have now lost all three meetings against Barcelona this season 2-1, with their total of goals matched by the number of red cards they have incurred.
Coach Diego Simeone is once again expected to be without the services of centre-backs Jose Gimenez and Stefan Savic. Lucas Hernandez on standby to continue alongside Diego Godin. Of course, after the red card Fernando Torres is suspended for this game while Tiago is also unavailable after sustaining a broken leg recently. Correa is expected to play up-fron along with Griezmann and Ferreira Carrasco.
Barcelona have lost their last two in Spanish Primera Division to blow the title race wide open. In fact, after the draw against Villarreal, the Blaugrana lost El Clasico against Real Madrid and were unable to win at Real Sociedad, losing 1-0. Their only win in their last four matches was their 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the first-leg.
Gerard Pique is a doubt bu should be recovered in time from his hip injury while Thomas Vermaelen, Jeremy Mathieu, Aleix Vidal and Rafinha are definetely all sidelined through injury. No major changes are expected in the starting XI with the MSN trio up front and Rakitic, Busquets and Iniesta in midfield.
Atletico are actually the only team to prevent Barcelona from reaching the semi-finals of the UCL in the last eight seasons. Lionel Messi has not scored or provided an assist in four games. Not since April 2010 has the five-time world footballer of the year failed to contribute to a goal in four straight matches.

Probable lineups:
Atletico Madrid (4-3-3): Oblak – Filipe Luis, Hernandez, Godin, Juanfran – Koke, Gabi, Niguez, – Griezmann, Ferreira Carrasco, Correa.
FC Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen – Alves, Alba, Mascherano, Pique – Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta – Messi, Suarez, Neymar.

Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg Champions League - April 12, 2016

Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg (Quarter Finals) - Competition: UEFA Champions League

Real Madrid’s 4-0 win against Eibar team earned them a sixth La Liga BBVA win in a row and they are now only 4 points behind la Liga leaders Barcelona. The Blancos have won their last four home games, scoring 14 goals in the process. The last two have been 4-0, while they've got 7-0, 6-0 and 8-0 victories under their belt this season.
Zidane manager rotated his squad against Eibar with the likes of Bale, Modric, Kroos, Danilo and Marcelo getting a rest. Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane have both returned to training and are expected to be available for selection. James Rodriguez is pushing for a start after an excellent showing last time out.
VfL Wolfsburg completely outplayed Real Madrid in the first leg and earned a priceless 2-0 win to defend in the 2nd leg. Die Wolfe went on to draw 1-1 with Mainz 05 in the weekend Bundesliga fixture and they are languishing in eighth in the Bundesliga. Another worry for the Wolves is that they have lost to nil away from home on three occasions in the Bundesliga since early February
Sebastian Jung and Daniel Caligiuri are the only major absentee from the German team and nanager Dieter Hecking could name the same XI that secured victory in Germany last Wednesday, with Andre Schurrle spearheading the attack. Striker Bas Doost will start on the bench but should play at some stage.
Real Madrid have won all four home games in this season's competition by an aggregate score of 15-0. Anyway, they have conceded in six of their last 10 matches in all competitions while Wolfsburg have scored in three of four UCL away matches.

Probable lineups:
Real Madrid: Navas – Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo – T.Kroos, Modric – Bale, J.Rodriguez, C.Ronaldo – Benzema.
Wolfsburg: Benaglio – Trasch, Naldo, Dante, R.Rodriguez – Guilavogui, Luiz Gustavo – Vierinha, Arnold, Draxler – Schurrle.

Champions League: PSG vs Manchester City Quarter Finals - 06-04-2016

Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester City
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: Wednesday 06 April 2016
Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Parc des Princes, Paris

PSG routed Nice 4-1 on Saturday and won the French league in record time with a 0-9 win at Troyes back on 13 March. They can consequently focus solely on the UEFA Champions League. They eliminated defending EPL Chelsea in the knockout round of 16 by winning both legs by the same 2-1 score-line.
Paris Sain Germain should have the majority of their big-hitters available for the match, but Marco Verratti remains sidelined with a groin injury. Adrien Rabiot should replace the Italian in central midfield. Javier Pastore is also expected to miss out on the visit of Manchester City because of injury, while Serge Aurier is still being integrated back into the first-team. Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani are in contention for a starting berth in the attacking trio.
Man City trail Premier League leaders Leicester City by 15 points in the table and face a real fight to defend their 4th place, the final Champions League qualification spot. This will be the Citizens' first-ever quarter-final in Europe’s elite club competition by winning the away leg 3-1 and drawing the home fixture 0-0 against Dynamo Kyiv in the previous round. City's domestic form is highly unpredictable and could be considered particularly poor away from home. However they have done well in UEFA Champions League after winning 3 out of their 4 matches this season.
Kevin de Bruyne made a stunning return to first-team action at the weekend after more than two months out injured and should start as offensive midfield along with David Silva and Jesus Navas. Samir Nasri has also played some minutes in the same match but he is expected to sit on the bench. Joe Hart, Raheem Sterling and Vincent Kompany are all sidelined while Yaya Toure is rated as doubtful.
The last three UCL knockout encounters between Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs have all seen the French team eliminate their English counterpart. PSG have won their last 4 UCL matches scoring at least 2 goals in each game.

Probable lineups:
PSG: Trapp – Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell – Rabiot, Motta, Matuidi – di Maria, Ibrahimovic, Lucas.
Manchester City: Caballero – Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Clichy – Fernando, Fernandinho – Navas, Silva, De Bruyne – Aguero.

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Champions League - April 05, 2016

Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid - Competition: Champions League

Barcelona's 39-match unbeaten streak came to an end in El Clasico as they were defeated 2-1 by arch rivals Real Madrid on Saturday. Anyway, the Catalans still boast a six-point lead in the Primera Division. The Blaugrana are unbeaten in this season’s Champions League competition, winning 6 and drawing 2 of their 8 fixtures. They have comprehensively beaten Arsenal on both legs of the round of 16 wrapping the tie 5-1 on aggregate.
Barcelona teal will be without Aleix Vidal as he joins Adriano, Mathieu and Sandro Ramirez on the sidelines. Rafinha has returned to the substitute bench against Real Madrid after recovering from a ligament injury and could play at some stage as the front three of Messi, Neymar and Suarez remain unchanged as well as the midfield trio of Rakitic, Busquets and Iniesta.
Atletico Madrid cut the gap to Barcelona to six points in La Liga at the weekend with a thumping 5-1 victory over Real Betis at the weekend. They have conceded only 15 goals from their 31 league outings so far. Their defensive record in the Champions League is impressive too, with six clean sheets from their eight matches. In the previous Champions League round, the Colchoneros were made to work hard by Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, who held them to a 0-0 stalemate on both legs, but eventually qualified by winning on penalties.
Manager Simeone has been boosted by the return of Diego Godin, Stefan Savic and Yannick Carrasco, but they will be without Tiago and are sweating on the fitness of Gimenez. Oliver Torres also remain sidelined through injury, while striker Luciano Vietto is a doubt. Griezmann and Fernando Torres are expected to lead the line in a 4-4-2 formation.
Atletico beat Barcelona at this same stage of the UCL en route to finishing as runners-up in 2014, drawing 1-1 in the first leg in the Camp Nou before winning 1-0 in the return fixture in the Vicente Calderon. Since August 2013 these familiar rivals have met 12 times, the first six of them in that stellar 2013-14 campaign for Atletico when they remained unbeaten against Barcelona and indeed secured La Liga with a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou. But since then, the boot has been on the other foot with six straight wins for the Blaugrana, including the two league clashes this term which both finished 2-1.

Barcelona last 5 matches:
06/03/16 Eibar 0 – 4 Barcelona

Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Competition: Spanish Primera Division
Date: Saturday, April 02 2016
Start Time: 19:30 BST - 2:30 PM
Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona team are nine points clear at the top of the table and 10 points in front of Real and they can virtually seal the title with a win here with just eight games remaining. The Blaugrana failed to get all the three points for the first time after the first match for 2016 (0:0 vs Espanyol) last time out when they dropped a 2-0 lead against Villarreal before the International break. Anyway, Enrique's men enter El Clasico on the back of 11 consecutive home wins, scoring 43 goals in them and unbeaten at home for more than one year.
Messi, Neymar and Suarez have all returned without injury but defender Mathieu is out for the rest of the season. Adriano is a certain absentee while Jordi Alba is a major doubt but should start the match. Andres Iniesta was not called into the latest Spain squad after suffering with a slight muscular problem, but he is expected to start alongside Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic in the middle of the park.
Real Madrid is third in the table with 66 points having won 20 games, drawn 6 and lost 4. They are on their best run of form since Zinedine Zidane's appointment, with four successive wins since a 1-0 home loss to Atletico. The Galacticos come into the El Clasico on the back of a stunning 4-0 win over Sevilla with Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Jese all getting on the score sheet. Anyway, given that they are already out of the Spanish Cup due to disqualification and the title all but in Barcelona’s hands, we expect Real Madrid team putting more focus on the upcoming UCL match.
Sergio Ramos and Pepe both return from suspension and will be included in the starting XI. Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale were not involved in the recent international break and both are expected to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the final third. A more defensive midfielder such as Casemiro is favourite to start with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, ahead of Isco and James Rodriguez.
In the reverse fixture earlier this season FC Barça clearly outplayed Real and walked away with all three points in an impressive 4-0 win at the Bernabeu when Los Blancos were still under Rafa Benitez. Recent history favours the hosts as the Catalans have won four of the last six Clasicos while Madrid have only won one of their seven previous trips to Barcelona.

Possible Line-ups:
Barcelona 4-3-3: Bravo; Roberto, Pique, Mascherano, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Turan; Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
Real Madrid 4-3-3: Navas; Danilo, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo.

Barcelona last 5 matches:
03/03/16 Rayo Vallecano 1 – 5 Barcelona
06/03/16 Eibar 0 – 4 Barcelona
12/03/16 Barcelona 6 – 0 Getafe
16/03/16 Barcelona 3 – 1 Arsenal
20/03/16 Villarreal 2 – 2 Barcelona

Real Madrid last 5 matches:
02/03/16 Levante 1 – 3 Real Madrid
05/03/16 Real Madrid 7 – 1 Celta de Vigo
08/03/16 Real Madrid 2 – 0 AS Roma
13/03/16 Las Palmas 1 – 2 Real Madrid
