AC Milan vs Torino Italian Serie A February 1, 2014

0 التعليقات
AC Milan is not doing well this season. Having already played 21 games, Milan sit only ninth losing to the leader, Juventus, 28 points, as many as they have got themselves. No one is satisfied with Milan's performance this season. Both the experts and club's supporters criticize the team. Thus, the club has recently changed the manager. Under the supervision of the new manager, Clarence Seedorf, Milan are playing better and better. Still there is much to be desired. While they managed to win two last league games, they lost 1:2 their game against Udinese in Coppa Italia being in that way ruled out from the cup. It seems that the restoration period will be tough and time-consuming. Yet, the so-far visible improvement do them well.
Probable lineups AC Milan: Amelia – de Sciglio, Rami, Bonera, Emanuelson – de Jong – Honda, Montolivo, Muntari, Kaka – Pazzini.

Torino team is doing well in the league this season. Their form pleases their supporters. Since 24th November Torino have lost only once - 1:3 in the first game that was played in the New Year against Parma. Apart from that defeat they have drawn two matches and won six times. Torino sit sixth in the table with their 32 points. Inter Milan, who are fourt, are only one point more. Inter's position guarantees the participation in the Europa League. To the fourth place Torino are losing 9 points, and to the third place, 12. Yet, to their local rvals, Juventus, they are losing 24 points. Yet Torino must remember that there are two other sides having the same number of points in the table, Parma and Hellas Verona. This even strentghtens their determination. They will be difficult to stop.
Probable lineups FC Torino: Padelli – Maksimovic, Glik, Moretti – Darmian, Brighi, Vives, Masiello – El Kaddouri – Cerci, Immobile.

Just before the break Aguero limped off and was replaced by Javotic.

Liverpool vs Everton Premier League January 28, 2014

0 التعليقات
Liverpool vs Everton - Competition: Premier League, 23. round

Liverpool go into the match two places clear and just one point ahead of Everton in the league standings. The Reds will want to respond to a poor 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, whilst Everton know that they can leap frog their city rivals with a famous victory at Anfield.
The home side progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup following a relatively straightforward
2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at Championship side Bournemouth.
Brendan Rogers has injury problems. Glen Johnson, Sakho and Agger are out, as is Lucas Leiva who picked up a knock versus Aston Villa. Raheem Sterling is expected to come in for Victor Moses after starting from the bench in the FA Cup win over Bournemouth. Sturridge will lead the attack with Suarez. Since returning from his injury lay off, he has scored in three consecutive games
Everton are unbeaten in their last six games winning four, scoring eleven and conceding just once in that run. They earned a comfortable 4-0 win in the FA Cup away to League One strugglers Stevenage in Saturday’s late game
Osman and Lukaku will be expected to return to the starting lineup with Kevin Mirallas reverting back to a attacking midfield role having led the line against Stevenage. Bryan Oveido suffered an horrific double leg fracture. Alcaraz and Deulofeu could come back into contention, but Barkley, Gibson and Arouna Kone are definitely out. Martinez could include new signing Lacina Traore in his squad for the first time.
There have been more red cards in this Premier League fixture than any other. Liverpool have lost just 1 of their last 14 Premier League Merseyside Derbies, winning 7. Fans will be hoping for more of the same which the two sides produced at Goodison earlier in the season when the two sides played out a 3-3 draw.

Possible line-ups:
  • Liverpool (4-4-2): Mignolet; Kelly, Skrtel, K.Tourè, Flanagan; Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho; Sturridge, Liverpool.

Lazio vs Juventus Italian Serie A - January 25, 2014

0 التعليقات

Stadio Olimpico - Roma will be hosting on January 25, 2014 (7:45 PM GMT), an Italian Serie A match between Lazio and Juventus Torino.
Lazio team after the last home game – 3:2 against Udinese Calcio – lost their midfielder, Ederson, who will have to rest approximately almost six months. Further winner- march will be slightly more difficult, but it seems that Lazio are in a good phase at the moment. The Romans have been unbeaten for the last four games – last defeat they suffered last year, 1:4 against Hellas Verona. In order to maintain the winning path in the upcoming match Lazio Rome must show their best performance because the opponent, Juventus, is during this league season unbeatable. Moreover the Romans have some line-up problems – besides Ederson injured are Alfaro, Ederson, Gonzalez, Radu and Marchetti; Lulic and Onazi have to pause because of the booking.
Juventus come to Stadio Olimpico as unbeatable. But it only concerns Serie A – during the last week the Old Lady fell in the Coppa Italia game against AS Rome (0:1). Because of that Juve can focus now only on the league and on winning the championship, unlike Lazio, which will be playing their cup match next week. It seems that Juventus will not brood on the loose – the last two away games they won 4:1. Also the victory against Lazio will be a goal in order to forget as quickly as possible about the defeat against AS Rome. Amongst players there are no injuries, so the manager Antonio Conte can put up his best line-up. The goal for Juventus in the upcoming game will be to repeat the result against Lazio – 4:1 – from the first part of this league season.

AS Roma vs Juventus Coppa Italia - January 21, 2014

0 التعليقات

AS Roma vs Juventus - Competition: Italian Coppa Italia
Match date: 21 January 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 GMT - 8:45 PM
Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Italy

In the Italian Serie A, AS Roma are eight points behind league leaders Juventus. They took their clean-sheet tally in league matches to 13 from 20 games with Saturday’s 3-0 win over Livorno. With four wins in their last six Serie A fixtures, they have opened up a useful gap on third placed Napoli, and have solidified their position in their Champions League qualification spots. The Giallorossi come in the quarter final after won with minimal 1:0 over Sampdoria.
Rudi Garcia was aware of the importance of this clash and rest some of his key players from the last match against Livorno. Maicon didn't play at all, while the captain Francesco Totti and new signing Radja Nainggolan entered the match in the second half. Federico Balzaretti remains on the sidelines, whereas Daniele De Rossi is doubtful through a toe injury and fever. Ljajic and Mattia Destro should start from the bench. new signing Michel Bastos will be unlikely on the pitch.
  • Probable lineups AS Roma (4-3-3): De Sanctis – Maicon, Benatia, Castan, Dodo – De Rossi, Nainggolan, Strootman – Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho.

Juventus come in this match in great form and have 12 wins in a row. in the Serie A conceiding only 4 goals. Anyway, the Old Lady showed severe defensive weaknesses in the weekend’s triumph over Sampdoria, so they will certainly be looking to improve at the back, while staying ruthless up front. The Bianconeri hammered minnows Avelino in the last 16 stage to earn a clash with AS Roma.
Conte will probably play with Giovinco and Quagliarella in the attack. Also Bonucci and Pirlo, who have not played in the last match are expected to be in the team. Vucinic has move to Inter Milan while new signing Guarin will not be available. Pogba and Vidal could play in the second half.
AS Roma have only lost once this season and it happened against Juventus two weeks ago with three unanswered goals. In twelve matches played at home so far this season (11 league and 1 cup), Roma are undefeated and have scored 28 goals and conceded 2.
  • Probable lineups Juventus (3-5-2): Storari – Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Padoin, Pirlo, Marchisio, Asamoah – Quagliarella, Giovinco.

Chelsea vs Manchester United Premier League 19.01.2014

0 التعليقات

Chelsea vs Manchester United - Competition: Premier League, 22. round
Match date: Sunday, 19 January 2014

Chelsea team after 21 rounds are sitting on the very good 3rd place in the English league table being very close to the second Manchester City and the leader, Arsenal. The gap between them and the Gunners is only two points. The Blues are one of the three teams in the English Premier League (also Arsenal and Everton) that have lost the smallest amount of goals, so far 19 – with 40 scored. The best scorer in the team is Eden Hazard – 9 goals – who, so has been rumoured, soon might be playing for PSG. In the year 2014 the Blues are unbeaten – 3 matches (all away) – 3 victories. Additionally, they haven’t lost any goals in 2014 so far – 3 games, 7 goals scored. The upcoming encounter will be the first at home, so the same attitude in a first home game in 2014 is to be expected. In spite of the fact that the opponent, who is of top-league class, but is currently in a very unstable form, the Blues will be perceived as a favourite of the upcoming game.
Probable lineups Chelsea: Cech – Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Cole – Matic, Ramires – Willian, Oscar, Hazard – Torres.

Manchester United are still playing unstable. They started 2014 with three lost matches – one in the league (1:2 against Tottenham), one in the FA Cup (1:2 against Swansea) and one in League Cup (1:2 against Sunderland). And despite the fact that they managed to win pretty easily in the last round against Swansea (2:0), some of the fans and experts couldn’t help feeling that this can be a beginning of a new-old crisis. It is true that between 10.12 and 28.12 Manchester United remained unbeaten, but they are still occupying 7th place in the league, losing 11 points to the leader, Arsenal and 9 points to the opponent in the upcoming game, Chelsea. For such a titled and ambitious club as Manchester United current state is simply a catastrophe.
Probable lineups Manchester United: de Gea – Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra – Jones, Carrick – Valencia, Rooney, Januzaj – Welbec.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa - Premier League 18 January 2014

0 التعليقات
Anfield - Liverpool will be hosting on 18 January 2014, an English Premier League, Round 22 match between Liverpool FC and Aston Villa. The match referee will be Jonathan Moss.
Liverpool team enter the late game of week 22 in 4th place but will need to push on with positive results if they hope to fend off rivals Everton for next year's Champions League. 3 wins in a row in all competitions has Liverpool back on track after a tough stretch of road trips to Man City and Chelsea. Anfield has become a fortress for the Reds this year where they've lost just one game to Southampton early on. Furthermore, Brendon Rodgers' side have now won 8 games in a row at home in all competitions, 7 of those coming in the Premier League by a total tally of 25 goals scored to just 5 goals conceded. Last week's return of Daniel Sturridge saw the SAS combination restored, and one suspects the 5 goals scored at the Britannia Stadium was of direct consequence to his comeback. Expect the strike parternship to carry on for more goals this Saturday, temporarily covering up Liverpool's need for defensive reinforcements.
Aston Villa haven't been in the richest vein of form lately, but they do sit in 11th place in the league table. A home loss against Arsenal last weekend was expected, but the Villains can take out a few positives. Top playmaker Christian Benteke got his first goal in nearly four months, perhaps igniting the young Belgian's confidence around goal. Also, the Villains demonstrated that they are up for a fight, not hanging their heads after going down 2-0 rather quickly to the league-leaders. Paul Lambert has his hands full as his squad's absentee list lengthens (seen below). Aston Villa are capable of putting in a top quality shift, and perhaps with Liverpool's recently leaky defence, they can nab a goal and keep this one interesting. But as far as the final result goes, back the home side.

Manchester City vs Blackburn Rovers - Competition: English FA Cup
Match date: 15 January 2014 - Kick Off Time: 20:10 GMT
Venue: Etihad Stadium

Manchester City 5-0 Blackburn Rovers (FA Cup)
45' Alvaro Negredo 1-0 // 48' Alvaro Negredo 2-0 // 67' Edin Dzeko 3-0 // 73' Sergio Agüero 4-0 // 79' Edin Dzeko 5-0

Man City finally ensuring their passage into the next stage if FA Cup after grabbing a comfortable win on their replay fixture against Blackburn Rovers this midweek. Being held in the previous meeting, Man City took things in a much more serious manner as they set off into an attacking mode since kick off. It took a while though, before City got things going as they went one goal up just before half time break with an effort from Alvaro Negredo.
The in-form Spanish international, continue his goal scoring spree by snatching his team's second on 47 minutes, providing a comfortable lead for his side. City domination was unstoppable as after getting that 2-0 lead, they kept on pouring forward and eventually adding three more goals, two of them were snatched by Edin Dzeko on 67 and 79 minutes, while another one arrived from Sergio Aguero, who marked his return from injury with a strike on 73 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo wins Ballon d'Or 2013

0 التعليقات

The 28-year-old has won the prestigious award for the second time in his career after being crowned the best player in the world in Zurich on Monday evening

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed the Fifa Ballon d'Or, beating off competition from Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery to secure the award for a second time.

Although the 28-year-old Portuguese failed to claim a major trophy at club level, he has been crowned the world's outstanding footballer over the course of the last 12 months.

Messi had won each of the last four editions of the award, including all three since it was endorsed by Fifa, while Ribery played a pivotal part in a historic treble-winning season for the Bavarians, but Ronaldo's tally of 69 goals in 59 games for club and country in 2013 proved decisive.

Ronaldo previously won the award in 2008 as a Manchester United player, but has since finished runner-up to Messi on three occasions (in 2009, 2011 and 2012).

But as Messi missed much of 2013 through injury, Ronaldo took advantage as he helped Real reach the final of the Copa del Rey and the last four of the Champions League before signing a new deal with the capital club and enjoying his best-ever season start under new coach Carlo Ancelotti in the latter months of the year, as well as single-handedly firing Portugal to the World Cup with all four goals in his side's play-off victory against Portugal over two legs in November.

And the 28-year-old, who opened a museum in December in his native Madeira to display his personal collection of trophies, now has another Ballon d'Or to exhibit alongside his 2008 award.

FINAL VOTE TOTALS (Others: 23.93 per cent)
Award Details:
  • FIFA BALLON D’OR 2013: CRISTIANO RONALDO
  • WOMEN’S WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR: NADINE ANGERER
  • COACH OF THE YEAR FOR MEN’S FOOTBALL: JUPP HEYNCKES

Sassuolo vs AC Milan 4-3 Highlights 12-01-2014 Italian Serie A

Stadio Citta del Tricolore- 12 January, 2014 - Serie A - 19.45 UK KO

AC Milan's ambition to turn their luck around in 2014 and keeping their previous victory going suffered a heavy blow as the Rossoneri received shock defeat over struggling Sassuolo's side on Sunday. Facing a team that are in much more problems that they are, Milan were looking really dominant early on and that was proven when Massimiliano Allegri's went one goal up after just nine minutes through Robinho and things were looking really comfortable for the away side when Mario Balotelli extended their lead with his finish on 13 minutes.
However, a clumsy defending on 15 minutes really cost Milan as Sassuolo managed to reduce the damage with a fine finish from Domenico Berardi. The young Italian striker, turned to be a menace for Rossoneri as another poor defensive display allowed Berardi to snatch a shocking equalizing goal on 28 minutes. Shortly afterwards, in another bizarre situation, the home side out of nowhere suddenly turned things around with Berardi completing his hat trick on 41 minutes.

Hellas Verona vs Napoli 12-01-2014 Italian Serie A

0 التعليقات
Hellas Verona vs Napoli - Italian Serie A, Round 19
Stadium: Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, Verona

Hellas Verona are the newcomers to Serie A, who have been doing suprisingly well so far. Before the start of the season no one expected them to gather 32 points in 18 games. During the last round the team of the manager Mandorlini won away from home 3:1 against Udinese - Toni put his name twice to the scoresheet in that match having already scored 9 goals this season. Out of the last four games Hellas Verona did not lose a single one - three were won and one drawn. Verona may boast about their home form - in front of their own supporters they lost only one game; the other eight were won. Regarding the goal difference the have scored 34 goals which is a pretty good amount, yet conceded as many as 27.
  • Probable lineups Hellas Verona: Rafael – Cacciatore, Moras, Maietta, Agostini – Jorginho, Romulo, Halfredsson – Iturbe, Toni, Gomez.
SSC Napoli team ended their Champions League's adventure having gained 12 points and not advancing to the next round. When it comes to the Italian ground they won their last home gay 2:0 against Sampdoria thanks to two goals scored by Mertens. Yet, it is Higuaín, who is their most efficient scorer - 9 goals so far. As for the last five games they managed to win three and the other two ended in a draw. The goal balance 38:20 speaks in favour of a solid offensive side and not such a bad defence. Being 10 points behind leading Juventus they are still considered by some as potential title candidates. Marek Hamsik can make a possible return to the squad.
  • Probable lineups SSC Napoli: Rafael – Maggio, Fernandez, Albiol, Armero – Inler, Dzemaili – Callejon, Pandev, Mertens – Higuain

Juventus Arena Stadium, Torino, Italy
Sunday, 05 January 2014 - 20:45 CET - 2:45 PM EST

Juventus have won 15 of the 17 games in Serie A this season and did not lose a point in the last nine games. Even more impressive is the fact that they conceded just a single goal in this recent nine games. But the real strength of the team are not the back three in front of goalkeeper Buffon, Juventus have the best attack in Serie A. Though the record of the league leaders is very impressive, they had problems when they had to face top teams. In Champions League they could not beat Galatasaray twice, failed to progress to the next round, also could not defeat neither Inter nor Fiorentina in Serie A. Midfielder Andrea Pirlo will most probably return in time from his knee injury for the match on Sunday.

Juventus (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente.

Roma made a sensational start to the season by winning their opening 10 games of the campaign, before being overtaken by the Bianconeri.
The Giallorossi are the only team unbeaten in the Serie A this season and this is their longest ever unbeaten streak. They are five points clear of Napoli in third. Roma’s defence has been the crucial factor in Roma’s excellent run this season. They have conceded just seven goals in their 17 matches. Before the Christmas break, Roma eased to a 4-0 victory over bottom club Catania. Ivory Coast winger Gervinho has been a joy to watch, revelling in the old-fashioned virtues of dribbling at speed at opponents.
Federico Balzaretti will not be called up for Sunday’s match against Juventus, he joined the group but he will not be fit enough to play against Juventus. The 'Tridente' will be likely formed by Totti, Destro and Gervinho but also Ljaijc is in contention for a starting berth.

AS Roma (4-3-3): De Sanctis; Maicon, Benatia, Castan, Dodò; Pjanic, De Rossi, Strootman; Gervinho, Totti, Destro.
