Arsenal vs Manchester City Premier League - 21-12-2015

0 التعليقات

Arsenal vs Manchester City - Competition: Premier League

Arsenal team currently sit second in the league table, and need a victory to reduce to two points the gap from league leaders Leicester City. They are unbeaten in five matches (4-1-0) across all competitions and come high on confidence, particularly following impressive wins over Olympiacos and Aston Villa.
Arsene Wenger could name an unchanged side from the one which won last time out. Alexis Sánchez, who was out due to muscle injuries, could return for the game, but he probably won’t be in the starting line-up. Flamini and Ramsey will keep their place in midfield in the continued absence of Coquelin and Cazorla respectively, with Joel Campbell deputising for Sanchez.
Manchester City go into this match a point behind their opponents after escaped with a 2-1 win over managerless Swansea City last Saturday. They are on a four-game winless run in away matches in Premier League. That poor run on the road started with a 4-1 loss at Tottenham and they failed to score in their next three road trips, 0-0 drawns in the Manchester derby and at Villa and a 2-0 defeat at Stoke.
The return of star striker Sergio Aguero gives the manager reason for optimism ahead of this trip. Captain Vincent Kompany and right-back Pablo Zabaleta are doubts, but Kevin De Bruyne could return after he was dropped to the bench due to fatigue against Swansea. Pablo Zabaleta, Samir Nasri and Fernando are all out through injury.
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last three league meetings with Man City, notably beating them 2-0 in Manchester in January. The Citizens have won just once on last 18 visits to Emirates Stadium, although only one of the last six at home has been a defeat.

Probable lineups:
Arsenal: Cech – Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal – Flamini, Ramsey – Walcott, Ozil, Campbell – Giroud.
Man City: Hart – Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov – Fernandinho, Toure – de Bruyne, Silva, Sterling – Aguero (Bony).

Leicester City vs Chelsea Premier League - December 14, 2015

Leicester City vs Chelsea
Competition: English Premier League
Date: 14 December 2015 - Time: 20:00 GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium, Leicester

Leicester City returned to the top of the table last weekend when a Riyad Mahrez hat-trick saw off Swansea City 3-0 in South Wales. Unbeaten in eight English Premier League fixtures, six wins and two draws, the Foxes are also the top scorers in the league, hitting the back of the net 32 times in 16 matches.
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri could name an unchanged team as Leonardo Ulloa could come in for Shinji Okazaki once again in a 4-4-2 formation. Similarly, N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater, Mahrez and Marc Albrighton look certain to keep their starting roles elsewhere in midfield. Ritchie de Laet is the only other injury absentee.
Chelsea team have been dreadful in the league this season and go into the weekend only two points above the relegation zone. They have won just one of their last eight Premier League away games (W1 D2 L5) and suffered another bloody defeat last weekend when Bournemouth cambe back from Stamford Bridge with a 0-1 win.  The Blues have not won any of their last five road trips in the Premier League. Anyway, midweek saw an improved Chelsea display as they beat Porto to progress in the UCL
Mourinho may opt for a similar lineup to the one which brushed aside Porto. Midfielder Cesc Fabregas was dropped in midweek and could miss out again. Striker Radamel Falcao is fit again and could be on the bench as Diego Costa is likely to lead the line. Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian appear in pole position for the attacking midfield spots but Pedro offers an alternative option on the flanks.
Chelsea did the double last season, including a 3-1 win in the corresponding fixture that clinched the title. The Blues have already shipped 24 goals this term, keeping just four clean sheets in the process. Leicester have scored at least 2 goals in 9 of their last 11 matches in the EPL.

Probable lineups:
Leicester City: Schmeichel – Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs – Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, Albrighton – Ulloa, Vardy.
Chelsea: Courtois – Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta – Matic, Ramires – Willian, Oscar, Hazard – Diego Costa.

Wolfsburg vs Manchester United Champions League - 08-12-2015

0 التعليقات
Wolfsburg vs Manchester United - Competition: UEFA Champions League

VfL Wolfsburg team are fifth in the Bundesliga and enter the match on the back of a 1-2 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund. Die Wolfe equalised in the 90th minute against Dortmund on Saturday, only to concede moments later to Shinji Kagawa.
As to the UCL, only two points separate the top three in this group. Wolfsburg top the standing with 9 points, Manchester United is one point behind, PSV sit third with seven points whilst CSKA Moscow can finish no higher than third. They will probably secure the first place in the standings if they avoid defeat here.
Manchester United have been solid and consistent at the back, conceding only three goals in the last 10 fixtures in all competitions but a third consecutive draw at home to West Ham and a fourth goalless draw of the season drew more criticism for the Dutchman and his tactics. In spite of the good Premier League position, it is perfectly clear the Red Devils are not performing to their potential. The Red Devils need to match the result of PSV Eindhoven at least.
Jesse Lindgard should shake off a thigh problem to start while Depay should be benched once again. Morgan Schneiderlin, who was forced off during the game against West Ham with a hip problem, will miss the trip to Germany.  Rooney, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw are all out through injury. Paddy McNair is named in the squad despite coming off against the Hammers with an ankle injury.
Wolfsburg have won both of their home UEFA Champions League matches this term, keeping clean sheets in those games. Anyway, they have played the Red Devils three times previously in the UCL, losing all of them.

Wolfsburg last 5 matches:
07/11/15 Mainz 2 – 0 Wolfsburg
21/11/15 Wolfsburg 6 – 0 Werder Bremen
25/11/15 CSKA Moskva 0 – 2 Wolfsburg
29/11/15 Augsburg 0 – 0 Wolfsburg
05/12/15 Wolfsburg 1 – 2 Dortmund

Manchester United last 5 matches:
07/11/15 Manchester United 2 – 0 West Brom
21/11/15 Watford 1 – 2 Manchester United
25/11/15 Man United 0 – 0 PSV
28/11/15 Leicester City 1 – 1 Manchester United
05/12/15 Man United 0 – 0 West Ham

Manchester United vs West Ham Premier League - 05-12-2015

Manchester United vs West Ham
Competition: English Premier League
Date: 5 December 2015 - Time: 15:00 GMT
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester

Man United have yet to taste defeat on home soil in the top flight and have conceded one goal at Old Trafford this season. Louis van Gaal’s side extended their domestic unbeaten run to six league games with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Leicester City last weekend. The Red Devils will face a make-or-break tie against Wolfsburg next week, as they a victory to guarantee their progress. Rooney will miss the match after suffering an ankle injury and  will be joined on the absentee’s list by Marcos Rojo, who dislocated his shoulder in training. Jesse Lingard has been passed fit and could reclaim the left flank role, though Memphis Depay is also in contention, with the Dutchman also capable of playing centrally behind Anthony Martial. Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones are all out through injury.
West Ham United team are currently eighth in the table after starting the season impressively. Anyway, they have collected just two points from their last four top-flight fixtures and a Lambert’s deflected goal denied the Hammers a win against WBA last weekend. The Hammers have a good record against top clubs as they have already beaten four of last season’s top six clubs -  Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
Slaven Bilic will be without Diafra Sakho with the Senegal international likely to be ruled out for around two months with a thigh injury.  Andy Carroll should earn a recall to the starting XI then, with Mauro Zarate, Manuel Lanzini and Victor Moses behing him. Mark Noble and James Collins are also available for selection after missing through suspension last time out. Enner Valencia and Dimitri Payet remain sidelined.
Manchester United's record overall against West Ham is impressive. They are unbeaten in 13 head-to-heads and have won seven straight over the Hammers at Old Trafford. Furthermore, they have been winning at both half time and full time in their last 8 home matches against the Hammers in all competitions. The Red Devils have kept clean sheets in five successive home games in league and cup.

Probable lineups:
Manchester United: de Gea – McNair, Smalling, Blind – Darmian, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young – Mata – Rooney, Martial.
West Ham: Adrian – Jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell – Noble, Kouyate – Zarate, Lanzini, Moses –Carroll.
