Argentina vs Paraguay Copa America semifinal - 30-06-2015

0 التعليقات
Argentina v Paraguay
Competition: Copa America - 2015 in Chile (Semi-finals)
Match date: 30 June 2015
Venue: Municipal (Concepción, Chile, Republic of)

Argentina team reached this semifinal through a penalty shoot-out with Colombia as they drew 0-0 in normal time. The Albiceleste have scored just four goals in as many games and Lionel Messi has netted only once. Tata Martino's men will face Paraguay for the second time in this year's competition in Concepcion on Tuesday after drawing 2-2 in the group stages.
Tata Martino has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from and we expect him to name an unchanged XI from the one that overcame Colombia last time out. That would see Messi, DI Maria and Aguero up front with Lavezzi, Higuain and tevez on the bench.
After the 2-2 draw against Argentina in their opening game, Paraguay have since continued to defy expectations, drawing with Uruguay in the group stages and beating Brazil on penalties in the quarter-finals after the game finished at 1-1 in 90 minutes and extra time failed to produce a winner. Ramon Diaz's team is a tough one but the only time Paraguay have had their noses in front in this tournament came in a 1-0 over Jamaica in their other Group B match.
Paraguay will be without injured midfielder Nestor Ortigoza and will have to wait on the recovery of defender Miguel Samudio. Ramon Diaz could name an unchanged side from the one that knocked Brazil out on penalties. Richard Ortiz is available after serving suspension, but is not expected to feature form the off.
Argentina have won 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 against the Paraguayans. Furthermore, Messi & co. have won 9 and drawn 1 of 12 matches since Gerardo Martino assumed control of the team in the autumn of last year.

Probable lineups:
Argentina (4-3-3): Romero; Zabaleta, Garay, Otamendi, Rojo; Pastore, Mascherano, Biglia; Messi, Aguero, Di Maria.
Paraguay (4-4-2): Villar; Piris, Aguilar, Da Silva, B Valdez; Gonzalez, Benitez, Caceres, Aranda; Santa Cruz, N Valdez.

Mexico vs Ecuador
Competition: Copa America - 2015 in Chile, Group A
Match date: 19 June 2015
Kick Off Time: 22:00 BST
Venue: Estadio El Teniente (Rancagua, Chile, Republic of)

Mexico team have stuck up two draws so far in the group, a goalless draw against Bolivia and a 3-3 against Chile. The Mexicans have now won just one of their last six games played, which was a 3-0 win over Guatemala. In their eight previous Copa America campaigns, the Mexicans have only failed to advance beyond the group stages once. It’s likely that a draw here would be enough for Mexico to go through as one of the two best third placed finishers.
Mexico are expected to be without Marquez for this match. Adrian Aldrete has joined the former Barcelona's dfender on the sidelines. Matias Vuoso scored twice in the thrilling draw with Chile last time out and he is expected to partner Raul Jimenez up front.
Ecuador have been playing below expectations at the tournament in Chile. They opened the tournament with a 2-0 defeat against Chile and then suffered a second defeat, a 3-2 loss at the hands of Bolivia. They ave to beat Mexico and hope results go their way elsewhere if they are to avoid exiting the tournament.
Gustavo Quinteros could opt for a similar looking XI. Gabriel Achiller has overcome his injury and he is widely expected to keep his place in the starting XI. Juan Cazares and Renato Ibarra were introduced at the interval lasttime out and could start here.
These two sides have met on 22 previous occasions and Mexico have won 16 times while Ecuador only twice. They last met in a friendly earlier in the year when Chicharito Hernandez scored the only goal of the game.

Mexico last 5 matches:
31/05/15 Mexico 3 – 0 Guatemala
04/06/15 Peru 1 – 1 Mexico
07/06/15 Brazil 2 – 0 Mexico
13/06/15 Mexico 0 – 0 Bolivia
16/06/15 Chile 3 – 3 Mexico

Chile vs Mexico - Competition: Copa America, Group A
Match date: 15 June 2015
Venue:Nacional (Santiago, Chile, Republic of)

Chile started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Ecuador courtesy of a Vidal penalty and a late goal from Edu Vargas.  Victory in this match would all but book Jorge Sampaoli's side's spot in the last eight, with all of the other sides in their group having dropped points in their opening matches.
Matías Fernández was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time and will now be suspended for the clash against Mexico so Jorge Valdívia should keep his place, potentially playing the role of a false nine. Felipe Gutierrez looks set to replace injured Marcelo Diaz in the starting line-up. Up-front, coach Sampaoli will continue with the dynamic duo Vargas-Sanchez.
Mexico team played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw with Bolivia on Friday as a yung and unexperienced squad has been take to the Copa America by manager Miguel Herrera, with next month's Gold Cup very much El Tri's priority. They have not enjoyed a great run in recent times as they have managed just one win in the last five matches, a  3-0 win over Guatemala in a friendly back in May..
Veteran defender Rafa Marquez is set to miss the remainder of the group phase through a leg injury and Carlos Salcedo and Juan Carlos Valenzuela are fighting for a chance to replace him. Javier Aquino was bright from the bench last time out and could feature. José de Jesús Corona will be getting the start in net instead of Guillermo Ochoa
Mexico boast a won 6, drawn 3 record in 12 previous matches against the Chileans but there has been little between the pair in recent years. Their last encounter was a drab goalless draw in September last year.

Probable lineups:
Chile: Bravo – Isla, Medel, Jara, Mena – Aranguiz, Diaz, Vidal – Valdivia, E. Vargas, A. Sanchez.
Mexico: Jose Corona – Salcedo, Marquez, Dominguez, Aldrete – Medina, Guemez – Fabian, Jesus Corona, Aquino – Jimenez.

Croatia vs Italy - Competition: UEFA Euro Qualifying

Croatia team top the qualification group having recorded four wins from five matches during the first half of the group. Since last year's World Cup, Kovac's men have suffered just one defeat in 8 matches - a 2-1 defeat to Argentina. The reverse match in November finished in a 1-1 draw, with Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva on the scoreline. In the last fixture, Croatia have crushed Norway 5-1 in Zagreb back in March.
Rakitic should be recovered in time for the match while Luka Modric is missing because of a knee injury. Milan Badelj and Anas Sharbini are in contention to replace Real Madrid's midfielder while Kovacic is expected to be benched. Domagoj Vida may line up alongside Vedran Corluka at the heart of the defence. Perisic and Olic will support Mandzukic up front.
Italy also have an unbeaten record since bowing out of Brazil 2014 during the group stages. Conte’s side opened their Group H campaign impressively with 3 consecutive wins against Norway, Azerbaijan and Malta. The Azzurri drew the following two matches. A late equaliser saved their blushes in a 2-2 draw with Bulgaria last time out and as consequence they sit second in the Group H, two points behind their opponents.
Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, Simone Zaza and Luca Antonelli are all on the sidelines and Inter's central back Ranocchia is set to partner Leonardo Bonucci in defense. PSG's Verratti has left the team with an ankle injury and will miss the match. Up-front, Conte will play with Graziano Pellè as central striker with Candreva and El Shaarawy on the flanks.
Croatia have never lost a European Championship qualification tie on home soil. Furthermore, Italy have won just one of their eight direct matches with Croatia, their first encounter back in 1942. But the Azzurri are unbeaten in their last 45 European Championship and World Cup qualification fixtures.

Croatia last 5 matches:
13/10/14 Croatia 6 – 0 Azerbaijan
12/11/14 Argentina 2 – 1 Croatia
16/11/14 Italy 1 – 1 Croatia
28/03/15 Croatia 5 – 1 Norway

Juventus vs Barcelona Champions League final - 06-06-2015

0 التعليقات

Juventus vs Barcelona - Competition: UEFA Champions League Final

Juventus team has topped Serie A for the fourth successive year, boasting the best attack and the strongest defence in the league. They were too dominant domestically and finished the league 17 points ahead Roma.  In Champions League, Juventus knocked out defending champions Real, winning 2-1 in Turin, then holding Los Blancos to a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu. In the previous rounds, they easily eliminated BVB while the clash against Monaco was more levelled.
Key defender Giorgio Chiellini, will miss the match and the reunion with Suarez after the Uruguayan bit him at last year's World Cup. Coach Massimiliano Allegri is already without Martin Caceres but might be able to call upon Andrea Barzagli. Fernando Llorente netted in the 2-2 draw with Verona at the weekend, but he is unlikely to feature from the start, with Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez leading the Juventus offensive.
Barcelona have been the best club side in the world in 2015, losing only two matches: against Real Sociedad after te Christmas break and a 1-0 loss to Malaga in an upset at the Camp Nou. They finished La Liga as champions, two points clear of Real Madrid. In UCL, the Blaugrana knocked Bayern Munich out in the semis and gained revenge for their 2013 7-0 aggregate scoreline. They cruised through to the final 5-3 on aggregate thanks to a 3-0 win away in Germany and a 2-3 defeat at home.
Manager Luis Enrique will probably name the same XI that started both legs of the semi-final against Bayern and so Marc-Andre ter Stegen retain his place in goal at the expense of Claudio Bravo. Xavi is expected to be benched while Dani Alves could play his last game for the club amidst reports he has agreed a move to Manchester United. Of course, Messi, Neymar and Suarez will lead the offensive line.
Messi, Suarez and Neymar have netted 120 times between them this season while their defense have conceded just 21 goals in 38 league games. Barça have scored at least 2 goals in 10 of their last 11 matches in the Champions League but Juventus are undefeated in their last 9 matches in the competition.

Probable lineups:
Juventus: Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Barzagli, Evra – Marchisio, Pogba, Pirlo – Vidal – Morata, Tevez.
