SSC Napoli vs AS Roma Italian Serie A 01-11-2014

0 التعليقات

SSC Napoli vs AS Roma - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 1 November 2014
Kick Off Time: 14:00 BST
Venue: Stadio San Paolo, Napoli

SSC Napoli team started the season with ups and downs. The squad, that president De Laurentis put together, looks like not the best to fight vs Roma and Juventus for the scudetto. The new signed players during the summer transfer period like K. Koulibaly or midfielder David Lopez, didn’t bring the necessary quality to the team. Also players like Higuain and Hamsik were not offering their best performance, except in the last home match against Hellas Verona (6-2), and the early knock out from the UEFAChampions League didn’t help coach Benitez to start this season in the right way. Anyway, Saturday afternoon the San Paolo stadium will be crowded to support their stars and beat the AS Roma, as it happened in the last 2 matches played in Napoli.
After losing against Bayern Munich and drawing away against Sampdoria, the Roma found back to winning at home in the last round against Cesena and looks forward to meet SSC Napoli on the weekend. Rudi Garcia is doing a great job so far, even without availability of the entire squad, due to injuries of Castan, Strootman and Keita. In Napoli “the capital team” won’t make any discount to the home team even if they will play an important Champions League match in Munich next week. Garcia will try to recover Iturbe and Keita from the 1st minute and he should have also a permission from the doctor to give the defender Castan some minutes during the match.

Probable lineups:
Napoli: Rafael – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam – David Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Mertens – Higuain.
Roma: Skorupski – Torosidis, Manolas, Astori, Cole – Pjanic, de Rossi, Nainggolan – Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Spanish Primera Division 25-10-2014

Real Madrid vs Barcelona
Competition: Spanish Primera Division, Matchday 9
Match date: 25 October 2014
Kick Off Time: 17:00 BST
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid, Spain

Real Madrid appear unstoppable at the moment, ripping through their opposition in their last 8 matches in all competitions, claiming multiple-goal victories on 7 of those occasions. During this 8-game span, Los Blancos have outscored their opponents with 35 scored and just 5 conceded. 16 of those 35 goals have come from fully-fit superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who was at it again over the midweek in their trip to Liverpool, as the Portuguese hit-man scored the go-ahead goal and his first ever at Anfield in a comfortable 3:0 victory. Now manager Carlo Ancelotti and his seasoned troops will defend their home fortress against their arch-nemesis, FC Barcelona. The hosts were conquered last season by the Catalans at the Santiago Bernabeu, which was just 1 of 3 home defeats in Spanish Primera Division action in their last 54 fixtures, and Los Blancos will be eager exact their revenge upon their hated rivals. However, the imminent return of Luis Suarez casts doubt over the host’s chances, although they should at the least avoid defeat here on Saturday.
FC Barcelona team have also torn through their opponents in the early going of the season, having picked up maximum points in 7 of their 8 league matches. This form has propelled them into a familiar spot atop the Spanish Primera Division table, and they have a great opportunity to extend their 4-point lead on Real Madrid even further when they travel to the nation’s capital. Their last trip to the Santiago Bernabeu ended in victory for the visitors, as pint-sized magician Messi bagged a hat-trick and provided an assist in a thrilling 4:3 encounter. The Argentine is back to his old bag of tricks this season as well and he will be looked to as the leader of their new tripod attack force that includes himself, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. The Brazilian is in scintillating form and can’t seem to stop scoring at the moment, while the controversial Uruguayan is set to make his return to action after seeing his lengthy suspension come to an end. Whether he starts or not remains to be seen, but barring a FC Barcelona blowout, he should at least be making his competitive debut for his new club. The embattled striker’s return only serves to add further intrigue to what has become arguably the biggest rivalry in all of sports – the El Clasico.

AS Roma vs Bayern Munich UEFA Champions League 21-10-2014

0 التعليقات

AS Roma team are unbeaten in eleven of their last twelve matches. Their only loss during this streak came by the hand of Juventus, who are currently unbeaten in, and top of the Serie A table. Despite their sparkling form, AS Roma still sit behind the frontrunners in both the Serie A and in Group E of the Champions League. Tuesday’s clash with Bayern Munich is a very important for Roma, as it could be a deciding factor in who goes on to win the group. Francesco Totti was predicted to be on the bench for Roma’s league match versus Chievo Verona over the weekend, but he started, showed excellent form, and contributed a goal to the 3-0 final score. Roma may appear to be the underdogs against Bayern Munich, but they have been in such good form lately, that it is very likely that they will steal the three points at home this Tuesday and take the lead at the top of Group E.

Bayern Munchen have been in sparkling form lately, winning four of their last five matches and remain unbeaten in their last ten. In the 2010/2011 Champions League competition, Bayern Munich and AS Roma each won their home matches against each other. Bayern went on to claim the top spot in the group while Roma brought up second, advancing them both to the Round of 16. In their last match, Bayern rolled over Werder Bremen by an unforgiving score of 6-0. Tuesday’s match very well could be the deciding factor in who goes on to win Group E this year. Bayern has become a powerful force to be reckoned with, but they will have a very difficult time at the Stadio Olimpico this Tuesday. Roma will play defensively and take advantage of their goal-scoring opportunities; Bayern must respond with a solid back line and they must finish their early chances to hold off the Italians.

Roma last 5 matches:

Inter Milan vs Napoli - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 19 October 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milano

Inter Milan team have found themselves struggling recently in away games. Luckily for Inter fans they are playing in the comforts of the San Siro where they have netted 10 goals through just 3 matches. A powerhouse at home, Inter are not a team to ignore as we enter the 7th round of Italian Serie A play. Only allowing 4 goals at home, which all came against Cagliari a couple weeks ago, Inter Milan have to stay vigilant on the defensive side to boost their counter attack style. In comes a dangerous Napoli team playing in top form lately, and you can rest assured they will be ready to fight in Milan. Inter will need to continue building on their offensive success Sunday in order to come away with the maximum 3 points. Led by feared Italian striker Pablo Osvaldo who has a beautiful stat line of 4 goals,3 assists through their first 6 matches in Italian Serie A competition, Inter will be determined not to falter twice in a row at home as we fully expect them to turn it around on Sunday afternoon.
SSC Napoli will have a tough time of it as they travel into one of Italy’s most famous venues at the San Siro in Milan. Led by a talented 27 year old in Jose Callejon, who has netted 4 goals and 1 assist through 6 matches, Napoli have the makings of a top Italian team as they have displayed lately after a weak start to the season. After losing 2 of their first 3 matches, SSC Napoli have found some answers in their last 3 matches winning twice and drawing once. This has put them squarely in top 4 talks as they already sit on the door at 7th overall in the tables. Enjoying good success in away games as shown by their 2 wins, 1 loss game line, Napoli will enter Milan with high hopes that ultimately could come up wanting.

Probable lineups:
Inter Milan: Handanovic – Ranocchia, Vidic, Juan – Nagatomo, Hernanes, Medel, Kovacic, Dodo – Icardi, Palacio
SSC Napoli: Rafael – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Zuniga – David Lopez, Inler – Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne – Higuain.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Premier League 18-10-2014

0 التعليقات

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea - Competition: Premier League

Crystal Palace team have settled in nicely under new manager Neil Warnock. After dropping their first 2 Premier League contests, they strung off 4 straight unbeaten in league play that saw them accumulate all 8 of their points in the new campaign. Signature wins over that stretch included a 3:2 defeat of Everton and a 2:0 home victory over Leicester. However, a return to inconsistent ways just before the international break saw them defeated at the KC Stadium by Hull City 2:0, and Warnock knows his troops must avoid similar slip-ups if they hope to emulate the success of last season. They’ll take encouragement from the fact they’ve only lost 1 of their last 4 English Premier League home games, and with Jason Puncheon looking dangerous per usual on the wing, an upset here is an entirely realistic possibility. However, the visitors are in rare form at the moment, and it would take a monumental effort dashed with a bit of luck for the hosts to pull off the improbable this weekend.
Chelsea have seen just one blip on their schedule this season in the Premier League, although a 1:1 draw to Man City will be taken as a plus by manager Jose Mourinho. They’ve now taken 19 points from a possible 21, and with a 5-point lead on 2nd place already, the title race could be over before Christmas even arrives. A 2:0 victory over London rivals Arsenal FC last time out solidified their position at the pinnacle of England football, and while that match was anything but straightforward, the Blues will take confidence from their clean sheet against such a quality opponent. Diego Costa netted the second goal in that match to seal the outcome, and the Spanish hit-man now has an astonishing 9 goals from just 7 league matches. He has quickly answered questions over how he would adjust to the rigors of the Premier League, but form is fleeting in football and he must stay focused. A short trip to South London and Selhurst Park isn’t always a kind fixture, but the visitors should be bagging all 3 points irregardless.

Denmark vs Portugal UEFA Euro Qualifying 14-10-2014

0 التعليقات
Denmark vs Portugal - Competition: UEFA Euro Qualifying
Match date: 14 October 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 BST
Venue: Parken, Kobenhavn

Denmark have an excellent opportunity at home this midweek to stamp their authority on Group I. Portugal pose a difficult task, but the hosts have more than enough quality to put in an upset bid, especially considering they have won their last 3 matches in Copenhagen while going unbeaten in their last 4 in the Danish capital. Furthermore, on home soil overall they’ve lost just once in their last 6 contests, most notably defeating Sweden and holding Italy to a 2:2 draw. The hosts have gotten their European Championship Qualifying off to a nice start as well, claiming 3 points at home against Armenia and then drawing on the road 1:1 with Albania. This start has them sitting in 2nd place of the table, 4 points above the Portuguese (with one extra game played), and oft-controversial striker Nicklas Bendtner has been a big reason for their success, as the imposing lead man now has 2 good assists over their first 2 games. But Christian Erikson is a big part of Denmark’s plans, and while the creative midfielder isn’t in the best of form for his club right now, he will be looked to as the imaginative spark for the hosts at the Parken.
Portugal team have followed up their poor World Cup showing over the summer with perhaps even more disappointing displays. In their opening Euro qualifier, they lost at home to Albania 1:0, failing to consistently threaten their opposition in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo. A return to less-intense competition in a friendly match with France on Saturday saw the comeback of Ronaldo to the line-up, but once again the Portuguese failed to capitalize on their opportunities, and by the time Ricardo Quaresma scored in the 77th minute from the penalty spot, France already held a multiple-goal lead and would hold on in the end for all of the bragging rights. New manager Fernando Santos however will be pleased with his team’s performance, and his competitive debut this Tuesday will be interesting to see how well he utilizes tactics, deploys his troops, and motivates his players. A coach signing typically has a ripple effect of newfound confidence for the team and the desire to play for the new boss, and while the going won’t be easy in the Danish capital, the players and traveling support will be more than up for this match.

Probable lineups:
Portugal: Patricio – Soares, Pepe, Carvalho, Eliseu – Moutinho, Carvalho, Gomes – Nani, Ronaldo, Danny.
Denmark: Schmeichel – Ankersen, Bjelland, Kjaer, Boilesen – Kvist, Hojbjerg – Schone, Eriksen, Krohn-Dehli – Bendtner.

Italy vs Azerbaijan - Euro 2016 Qualifying 10-10-2014

0 التعليقات

Italy vs Azerbaijan - Competition: UEFA Euro Qualifying, Group H

Italy enter their second match in their bid to return to the European Championships in 2016. Coming off a disappointing World Cup that saw them bounced from group play by Uruguay and vast underdogs Costa Rica, the Azzurri are eager to embark upon their new campaign under well-respected manager Antonio Conte. The Italian took the post after failing to see eye-to-eye with board members on certain issues at Juventus, and they are expected to greatly improve by the time the European spectacle gets under way in France. He has already led his nation to 2 straight 2:0 victories over the Netherlands in a friendly match and over Norway in their Group H opening contest. Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza rewarded the faith Conte placed in him with the start in Norway, as the 23-year-old found the back of the net in the 16th minute. From there, their rock-solid defence took control of the match until just past the hour mark, when Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci sealed the match’s 2:0 fate with a goal. Headed into Friday’s match-up with Azerbaijan, the Azzurri sit atop the pinnacle of Group H yet remain tied on points with Croatia and Bulgaria, making this home match against the vast underdogs a must-win for the hosts.
Azerbaijan team need to get positive results at home if they can even begin to dream of qualifying for the 2016 games in France. Unfortunately for the Milli, they conceded a late goal to Bulgaria at the Bakcell Arena to lose all of the points in their first match of Group H. German-born attacker Dimitrij Nazarov of Karlsruher SC scored just before the hour mark to instill life into his team and into the stands of the home support. However, their doom on the day was eventually sealed, and manager Berti Vogts will need to find a clever way to get his troops up for a contest that has road defeat written all over it against the mighty Azzurri. But the Italians are admittedly in a bit of a transition period, making the upset here an unlikely yet real possibility. It may be important to note however, that the visitors have never won any of their 25 European Championship qualifying matches on the road, managing to find defeat in 23 of those contests.

Juventus vs AS Roma Italian Serie A - October 5, 2014

Juventus vs AS Roma - Competition: Italian Serie A

Juventus FC team enter the match with a perfect defensive record, having conceded zero goals in five league matches but the Bianconeri lost 1-0 their mid-week UCL to Atletico Madrid in a match where they once again showed their limits in Europe.
Andrea Pirlo could be back in contention, but he is highly unlikely to start while Andrea Barzagli, Romulo and Luca Marrone are out injured. Alvaro Morata and Martin Caceres are doubtful and will face late fitness tests before the game. Kwadwo Asamoah could come in for Patrice Evra on the left flank. The attacking duo will be Llorente-Tevez once again.
AS Roma have made a great start to both their Seria A (currently in 1st place) and UCL campaigns. They came away with a valuable point from Etihad Stadium as the Giallorossi drew 1-1 agains Man City after club legend Francesco Totti grabbed the equalizer after going down to an early Sergio Aguero penalty kick. The captain became the oldest goalscorer in Champions League history (38 years and 3 days) .
First choice keeper Morgan De Sanctis is a major doubt while De Rossi, Strootman, Astori, Castan, Balzaretti and Borriello continue to miss out. Juan Iturbe is fully fit and could compete with Alessandro Florenzi and Adem Ljajic for a starting spot. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will keep his place alongside Kostas Manolas in defence, while Seydou Keita will be given the holding role in midfield.
Juventus have won their last 21 home matches keeping a clean sheet in their last 8 games in Serie A. Furthermore, they have won five of the last seven meetings against AS Roma. The Bianconeri enjoyed a 3-0 triumph in the same fixture last term.

West Bromwich Albion vs liverpool FC Premier League 04-10-2014

0 التعليقات
West Bromwich Albion vs liverpool FC - English Premier League

Liverpool team couldn’t be happier to see the international break approaching. With Mario Balotelli sputtering and firing blanks for his new club, the absence of Daniel Sturridge has become increasingly more evident. They desperately need the Englishman’s finishing touch, and outside of a 2:2 penalty shootout victory over Middlesbrough in the League Cup, they have scored just 5 goals in their last 5 competitive matches since he landed on the treatment table. The thinking here is they will not rush him back into action this weekend, instead opting to rest him until after the international break. But the Reds can’t take much more bad news if they hope to find themselves in the top 4 come season’s end, as they currently sit in 14th place with just 7 points from 6 contests. After a disappointing 1:0 defeat to Basel in their UCL midweek game, the hosts must find a way to ignite their stale attack and solidify their leaky defence. A home match with West Brom is a very winnable game for the hosts, but they must iron out the small details and keep focused throughout the full 90 minutes to do so.
West Bromwich have enjoyed quite a fine few weeks, turning around a poor start to the season that had seen them claim just 1 point from their first 3 matches. But manager Alan Irvine finally has his men adapting to the way he wants them to play, and 3 straight victories in all competitions has the fans and players alike in great spirits. After snagging a massive 1:0 road win over Tottenham, the Baggies made an impressive late comeback against Hull City in the Capital One Cup to claim all of the spoils and then absolutely dismantled Burnley last time out 4:0. Talented young striker Saido Berahino will be giving England international manager Roy Hodgson a reason to take notice, as the hit-man has now scored 3 goals in their last 2 matches, taking his season tally to 5. The big man in camp was supposed to be record-signing Brown Ideye, but Berahino has stolen the spotlight and will be a vital cog in West Brom’s 2014-2015 campaign. While a road trip to Anfield isn’t typically ideal, the visitors will know that the hosts are struggling and will be confident of securing at least a point here.
