Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid Champions League April 30, 2014

0 التعليقات

Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid
Competition: Champions League − 2013/2014 − Semi-finals (second leg)

Chelsea team are in a very good mood at the moment. After well-played game and victory against FC Liverpool on Sunday they can still realistically think about winning the Premier League. 2:0 against the Reds will boost their confidence before the encounter in Champions League. They managed to escape from the unavoidable and postponed the coronation of the Liverpool. Against Simeone’s team who represents a similar football philosophy to Jose Mourinho, Chelsea will certainly have more problems and the second leg will be even more challenging then the first one – no mistakes allowed. Quite a difficulty for the Special One can be the absence of injured John Terry and Petr Cech as well as booked Frank Lampard.
Simeone has led Atletico Madrid four points clear at the top of the La Liga table and with three games to go Atletico is on the verge of something pretty special. They are 14 games unbeaten (all competitions) and a 1-0 win at Valencia on Sunday was their thirteenth in 17 La Liga road trips. Of the Champions League semi finalists Atletico are the only remaining unbeaten side.
Gabi is suspended, but other than that Simeone has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from. Mario Suarez should replace him in midfield while Arda Turan could return to the starting XI having played the final 30 minutes in each of the last two games following a groin injury. Atletico have won just once in nine road games in England (1-4-4) but are 5-2 in two-legged ties against English teams in UEFA play. On the other side, the Blues have won one of four previous UEFA semi finals against Spanish opposition.

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid Champions League 2nd leg - April 29, 2014

0 التعليقات
Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid
Competition: Champions League − 2013/2014 − Semi-finals (second leg)

Bayern Munich have a one goal deficit to overcome when they host Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.
Title defender Bayern Munich were the dominant team in the first leg in Madrid last week, had 79 percent possession at half time, 15:3 corners at the end, but were not able to create any dangerous goal scoring opportunities. Coach Pep Guardiola had started without Champions League topscorer Thomas Müller, tried it with three defensive midfielders instead, therefore Munich’s game lacked of creativity. The team seemed not fully focused, stood too far away from their opponents and had difficulties in the back. Also the remaining weak form of winger Franck Ribery is a real problem for them at present. On Tuesday however, we can expect a different Bayern Minjch side, they will be far more concentrated and resolute on home soil.
Real Madrid team surprised last week when played defensive tactics on the own ground. They stood in the back waiting for counter attacks. And they got their opportunities, made the 1:0 with the first chance in the 19th minute when Karim Benzema scored his first goal after a goalless month. Cristiano Ronaldo right afterwards and Gareth Bale in the second half had excellent chances to score another goal but missed. On the other side the often criticized defence stood very well, especially on the wings. We can expect Real to play similar tactics on Tuesday, hoping to score an away goal that would force Bayern Munich to score three times.

Probable lineups Bayern Munich: Neuer – Rafinha, Boateng, Dante, Alaba – Lahm, Schweinsteiger – Robben, T. Muller, Ribery – Mandzukic.
Probable lineups Real Madrid: Casillas – Carvajal, Pepe, S. Ramos, Marcelo – Xabi Alonso, Modric – Bale, do Maria, C.Ronaldo – Benzema (Isco).

Match date: Tuesday, 29 April 2014 - Kick Off Time: 20:45 GMT

Villarreal vs Barcelona 02-03 Highlights 27-04-2014

0 التعليقات

Villarreal vs Barcelona
Competition: Spanish Primera Division
Match date: 27 April 2014
Venue: Estadio El Madrigal, Spain

Villarreal looked really hungry for goals as their counter attacking play earned them an opening goal which was scored by Cani just before half time break.
Villarreal continue to look dangerous when attacking and eventually managed to double their lead on 55 minutes from Trigueros' effort.
However, a combination of lack concentration and bad luck apparently denied the home side a potential home win over Barca as an own goal from Gabriel Paulista lifted Martino's men spirit.
Luck seemed to be arriving for El Barca late in that game as they suddenly got back on level terms, thanks to another dubious own goal, this time from Mateo Musacchio on 78 minutes.
Feeling confident, Barcelona eventually turned things around as their star player, Lionel Messi snatched his team's third on 83 minutes.
Goals:
Villarreal – 45' Cani 1-0 // 55' Manuel Trigueros 2-0.
Barcelona – 64' 2-1 (o.g.) Gabriel Paulista // 77' 2-2 (o.g.) Mateo Pablo Musacchio // 83' 2-3 Lionel Messi.

Villarreal CF starting lineup vs FCB 2014:- Asenjo, Jokic, Musacchio, Gaspar, Paulista, Cani, Bruno, Pina, Trigueros, Perbet, Dos Santos.

Liverpool vs Chelsea Premier League April 27, 2014

Liverpool vs Chelsea - English Premier League, Matchday 36
Sunday, 27 April 2014 - 2:05 PM BST
Anfield Road, Liverpool, United Kingdom

Liverpool’s supporters could not ask for more. Before the start of the season no one had probably thought the Reds will be the major candidates for the title with three final games of the season to go. Brendan Rodgers’ team have got 80 points now, are 5 points clear of the 2nd Chelsea and 6 points clear of the 3rd Manchester City (the Citizens have got one game more to be played). The Reds have not lost in the league since 29th of December when they were defeated at Stamford Bridge by their upcoming rivals. Since then, Liverpool won 14 league games and drew only 2. Moreover, the Reds won the last 11 games in a row when it comes to the Premiership matches. Last week Liverpool beat 2:3 Norwich. The Reds were struggling to keep the score but they somehow managed to take three points home.
Chelsea and Mourinho are going to go to Anfield and keep things incredibly tight defensively and look to hit on the counter-attack. Their shocking 2-1 loss to Sunderland left Liverpool five points clear atop the table with only three matches remaining. Third-placed Manchester City - who recently lost 3-2 at Anfield - are a point further back, but have a game in hand.
Blues' manager Jose Mourinho has flagged the possibility of fielding a weakened team as he prioritises next week's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg at home to Atletico Madrid. Lampard and Mikel will likely have to start after playing midweek and getting suspended for the second leg. Petr Cech and John Terry were injured in midweek, Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto'o may well be fit enough to feature but are likely to be rested while Ramires is suspended for four matches.

Possible line-ups:
Chelsea: Hilario – Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Kalas, Cole – Mikel, Matic – Salah, Lampard, van Ginkel – Demba Ba.
Liverpool: Mignolet – Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Flanagan – Gerrard, Lucas, Allen – Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez.

Stadio Olimpico, Roma - 25 April, 2014 - Serie A

AS Roma keeping their challenge for Italian Serie A title as they grabbed an important home victory over AC Milan on Friday.
Both teams were keen on snatching all three points as they have their own targets to meet by the end of current season.
It was AS Roma though that got the break through as two minutes before half time break, Miralem Pjanic scored a wonderful solo effort to give his side a slender lead in that period. AC Milan tried to get back into that tie, but poor attacking display from Rossoneri put them under a lot of pressure as Giallorossi eventually secured all three points with an effort from Gervinho on 65 minutes.

Benfica made a bright start on that match as they got themselves in front after only three minutes of play through Ezequiel Garay's header.
Juventus were not keen on giving things up easily though as they worked hard in getting back into that tie.
The Turin giant finally drew level when their star striker, Carlos Tevez, scored a fine effort on 73 minutes.
However, it was Benfica that eventually grabbed all three points on that tie as Lima netted home the winning goal six minutes from time.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich Champions League April 23, 2014

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
Competition: Champions League Semi-Final
Match date: Wednesday, 23 April 2014 - Kick Off Time: 19:45 GMT
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid, Spain

Real Madrid booked their place in the Champions League semi-final with a nervy 3-2 aggregate victory against Borussia Dortmund., despite a 2-0 loss in Germany. The Merengues banked more silverware when winning the Copa Del Rey with a 2-1 win over Barcelona last week thanks to an outstanding goal by Gareth Bale. Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still recovering from the knee injury that struck him recently, should be involved in this pivotal match. Carlo Ancelotti will still not be able to count on Arbeloa, Sami Khedira and Jesé Rodríguez while Brazilian left back Marcelo might also miss the match.
Bayern made short work of retaining the Bundesliga title which they wrapped up some time ago but they haven't been at their best since then, losing back to back league games (one of them considerably embarrassing – 3-0 at home against Borussia Dortmund) before last weekend's 2-0 win at Eintracht Braunschweig. They weren’t impressive against Manchester United in the quarter finals and also risked elimination when Patrice Evra put the Red Devils ahead before they scored three goals.
Guardiola will certainly not be able to count on the midfielders Thiago Alcântara, Xherdan Shaqiri and on the German defender Diego Contento. He again opted to rotate his starting XI at the weekend but Mario Mandzukic should return to the starting XI in place of Claudio Pizarro here. Neuer has been back in training and will resume his position between the sticks.
Los Blancos have won all five of their Champions League home games this season and have scored a staggering 32 goals in the competition so far. Furthermore, have won 15 of their last 17 home games in the Champions League. On the other side, Bayern have lost on all five of their last visits to the Bernabeu (including the 2010 final against Inter).

Probable lineups Real: Cassilas – Carvajal, Pepe, S. Ramos, F. Coentrao – Xabi Alonso, Modric – Bale (Isco), di Maria, C. Ronaldo – Benzema.
Probable lineups Bayern: Neuer – Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Alaba – Schweinsteiger, T. Kroos – Robben, T. Muller, Ribery – Mandzukic.

Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea Champions League semi-final April 22, 2014

0 التعليقات

 Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea FC
 Football: Champions League − 2013/2014 − Semi-finals (first leg)

Atletico Madrid and Chelsea FC will battle for a ticket to the 2014 UEFA Champions League finals. The 1st leg will be played at the Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid.
Atlético Madrid can be fully satisfied at the moment. Simeone’s team has a magnificent time. In the Spanish Primera Division Los Rojiblancos occupy the leading position – with 85 points they have 6 points advantage over 2 Real Madrid and 7 over 3 Barcelona (both have one less game played). In the Champions League they managed to win quarterfinal against FC Barcelona (1:1 and 1:0). In these games Atletico were better organized and showed that they can beat everyone. They managed to completely pacify the stars of Barcelona – Messi and Neymar – and practically brought the Catalonians to their very end as the Tiki-taka-team. The performance Atletico is showing in the Spanish and Champions League can be a very serious threat to the Blues in the upcoming game. That’s why Atletico are perceived as a favorite of this semifinal.
Chelsea FC are in a very bad place at the moment. However they occupy 2 place in the EPL, they surprisingly lost their last league game against the last team in the table, Sunderland 1:2 – the championship is moving away. The Blues are two points behind the leading Liverpool, but the Reds have one more game to play, so the gap can be even more substantial. Moreover 3 Man City (71 points) have two more games to play, so theoretically can jump over the Londoners. Mourinho’s boys have to get over it and focus on the Champions League semifinal that will be very challenging. The opponent is in very good form and if the Blues will play as they did against Sunderland they will certainly be crushed. The Champions League quarterfinal against PSG wasn’t a very good performance. 3:1 in the first leg indicated a very bad scenario for the Londoners. But a 2:0 at home secured the semifinal – it’s difficult to say if it was luck, good performance or the absence of PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimović that lead to this result. One way or the other Chelsea have to show a better football and better focus to think about beating Atletico.

Possible line-ups:
Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Courtois; Filipe Luis, Miranda, Godin, Juanfran; Koke, Arda Tura, Tiago, Gabi; Diego Costa, Raul Garcia
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech; A.Cole, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta; Lampard, Ramires; Oscar, Schurrle, Willian; Ba.

The visitor's positive approach were rewarded early as they got in front after just four minutes of play through Raheem Sterling's effort. Norwich City refused to give up easily though as they put on a strong fight and pulled one goal back from Gary Hooper's effort on 54 minutes.

Chelsea vs Sunderland - Competition: Premier League

Goals:
Chelsea – Samuel Eto’o 12'
Sunderland – Connor Wickham 18' // Fabio Borini (pen) 82 '

Chelsea made a bright start on that tie as they already got in front after just 12 minutes of play through Samuel Eto'o.
However, that lead only lasted for a while as Sunderland managed to get themselves back on level terms with an effort from Connor Wickham on 18 minutes.
Drawing 1-1 in the first 45 minutes, Chelsea tried hard to take a more aggressive approach as they wan't to keep that pressure on current league leader, Liverpool.
The Blues' attempt turned out to be a failure though as instead of taking the lead, they found themselves going behind when eight minutes from time, Fabio Borini scored the winner from a spot kick.

Juventus vs Bologna Italian Serie A 19-04-2014

Juventus vs Bologna - Competition: Italian Serie A 2013/2014

Juventus team are on their way to grasp the league title. With 87 points they are now 8 points clear of the second AS Roma. It seems to be enough, having only five games left for of every side. When it comes to Antonio Conte’s team ‘s recent performance they won their last two games against Udinese on the road and against Livorno at home – both 2:0. Llorente looks like a well-disposed man having scored 3 of these 4 goals in that two games. On the 24th of April Juventus will travel to Benfica for their first-leg of the UEFA Europa League’s semifinals. During the last game week, when Juventus played against Udinese, they were without Carlos Tevez, who was placed on the bench after picking a minor injury during the 2:1 victory over Lyon in the Europa League.
Bologna are now sitting 17th in the table being just 3 points clear of the relegation zone. Both Livorno and Sassuolo (placed respectively on the 18th and 19th place) are just three points below them. During the last game week Bologna made a step closer to their participation in the next season’s Serie A competition. At the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara they earned a vital point in the clash against the 6th-placed AC Parma. It was Bologno who took the lead just before the end of the first half but Palladino scored an equalizer for Parma about 10 minutes before the final whistle. Out of their last five league games they took the three points only once – when hosting Cagliari on the 23rd of March. Then they lost two games in a row (against Chievo Verona and Atalanta) and drew the last two (with Parma and Internazionale).

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Copa del Rey Final April 16, 2014

Real Madrid vs Barcelona  - Competition: Copa del Rey Final
Match date: Wednesday, 16 April 2014 - Kick Off Time: 20:30 GMT - 21:30 CET
Venue: Estadio Mestalla, Valencia, Espagne

FC Barcelona team are going through a rough patch right now. The Catalonians lost the last two games – first Atletico Madrid beat them in the quarterfinal of the Champions League (1:1 and 0:1), then they surprisingly lost the league encounter against Granada (0:1) last Saturday. Because of that defeat, Barcelona moved away from the Spanish La Liga, being one point behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, that has one game more to play. Two losses in a row are extremely disappointing for the team like Barcelona. Is this already a crisis? It seems like it. The upcoming Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid will be very challenging for Barcelona. It could basically be the only chance for Catalonians to win a trophy this season. Who would have thought!
Real Madrid can be satisfied at the moment – they are in the UCL semifinal and are still very in play for the Spanish championship. In the Champions League they lost the second leg against Borussia Dortmund 2:0 but 3:0 home victory was enough to advance. Every cloud has a silver lining. In the Spanish Primera Division Real are second, having the same amount of point as their local rival, Atletico Madrid (which has one game more to play). The 4:0 win against Almeria in the last league round is a good sign before the upcoming game. They seem to be in a good shape and well prepared for the encounter against the Catalonians.

Possible line-ups
FC Barcelona: Pinto – Dani Alves, Bartra, Mascherano, Jordi Alba – Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta – Fabregas, Neymar, Messi.
Real Madrid: Casillas – Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, F. Coentrao – Xabi Alonso, Modric – di Maria, Isco, Bale – Benzema.

Barcelona last 5 matches:
29/03/14 Espanyol 0 – 1 Barcelona
01/04/14 Barcelona 1 – 1 Atlético Madrid
05/04/14 Barcelona 3 – 1 Real Betis

Udinese 0-2 Juventus
16' 0-1 Sebastian Giovinco // 26' 0-2 Fernando Llorente

Juventus continue to hod down their table topping position in Italian Serie A after grabbing a sound victory over Udinese at Friuli on Monday.
Eager to maintain their gap with second place seat, Roma, Juve took the attacking initiative from kick off as they pushed forward vigorously from kick off.
The Turin giant got themselves in front when Sebastian Giovinco scored after just 16 minutes of play.
That early goal gave further beliefs for Juventus players as they kept on venturing forward until eventually doubling their advantage through Fernando Llorente's strike on 26 minutes.
Udinese tried to get themselves back into the tie, but none of their efforts were enough to hurt their opponent. Until the final whistle was blown, no more goals were scored by both sides as Juventus came away with all three points from that early weekend tie.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Premier League April 13, 2014

Liverpool FC vs Manchester City
Football: Premier League, 34th game week

Anfield ( Liverpool) will be hosting on Sunday, 13 April 2014, an Premier League, 34th game week match between Liverpool FC and Manchester City.
Liverpool, having already played 33 league games, are sitting first in the table with 74 points and the record of 23 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses. They are now 2 points clear of the 2nd Chelsea and 4 points ahead of Manchester City. Yet, as already-mentioned, manager Pellegrini’s men have played only 31 games so far. During the last game week the Reds travelled to London to meet West Ham United. The game ended in a 1:2 win of Liverpool, yet, the match was not free of controversial referee’s decisions. The two Liverpool’s goals were both penalties, which were executed by Steven Gerrard. After taking the lead in the 44th minute of the game, West Ham scored a controversial game in the injury time of the 1st half. Then with 20 minutes till the end of the game the Reds were awarded with another penalty. Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premiership since the end of the 2013 when they lost 2:1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
  • Probable lineups Liverpool: Mignolet – Johnson, Skrtel, Agger (Sakho), Flanagan – Henderson, Gerrard, Allen – Coutinho – Suarez, Sturridge.

Man City team are in a pretty good position when it comes to the standings in the Premier League table. They are now 4 points below the leading Liverpool but have played 2 games less. During the last game week the Citizens hosted Southampton. With goals from Toure, Nasri, Dzeko and Jovetic they managed to outclash the Saints 4:1. Manchester took the lead very early in the game with a Toure’s penalty in the 3rd minute. Yet, after 33 minutes Lambert (also with a penalty) gave Southampton an equalizer. David Silva was probably the best man on the pitch. The Spaniard was the key part in the majority of City’s attacks. When it comes to the recent form, the Citizens won four out of the last five league games. They dropped points only while visiting the Emirates Stadium – the game against Arsenal ended in a 1:1 draw.
  • Probable lineups Manchester City: Hart – Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy –Fernandinho, Yaya Toure – Navas, Silva, Nasri – Aguero (Dzeko).

Atletico Madrid early pressure was rewarded as they already got themselves in front after only five minutes of play through Koke's fine finish.
Atletico looking really determined and should probably sealed that tie in the first 20 minutes as they created many chances, especially from David Villa who should probably grabbed at least two goals.
Barcelona started to find their rhythm, but still finding difficulties in breaking down Atletico's solid defense.
After the break, Barca continue to pour forward, while Atletico content to play the counter attacking game.
Despite several goal scoring chances from both sides, none of them were able to convert them as Atletico hold their slender lead until the final whistle was blown.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester United
Competition: UEFA Champions League - Quarter-finals: return-leg

When Bayern Munich drew 1:1 at the Old Trafford last week, they controlled and dominated the game, but had problems with Manchester's defensive tactics, created only a few goal-scoring opportunities. One of them used Bastian Schweinsteiger to strike the important away goal. He then got a red card in the 90th minute and will be suspended in the return leg as it will be Javi Martinez. With Thiago also a third defensive midfielder will be absent due to an injury, Pep Guardiola will therefore have to make some changes on Wednesday. Bayern Munich are already fixed as the upcoming German champions, had been unbeaten for the 53 games in Bundesliga, before they lost the derby in Augsburg 0:1 on Saturday.
Bayern Munich (4-1-4-1): Neuer; Alaba, Rafinha, Dante, Boateng; Lahm; Ribery, Gotze, Kroos, Robben; Mandzukic
Manchester United accepted to be outsiders at home last week, stood very deep around the penalty area and tried to hit their opponents on the counter attack. This tactics seemed to become successful when defender Nemanja Vidic headed the lead after 58 minutes. Manchester's wall did not hold though, Bayern's equaliser means that they will have to score at least one goal in Munich to progress. Still we can expect them to play similar tactics on Wednesday again. In the English Premier League Manchester are playing a terrible season, most probably won't qualify for the Champions League again, may not even make it to the Europa League. Striker Robie van Persie will miss the return-leg due to an injury, also forward Wayne Rooney might not be able to play.
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Jones, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra; Fellaini, Carrick; Valencia, Kagawa, Welbeck; Rooney

Chelsea vs Paris Saint-Germain
Competition: UEFA Champions League, Quarterfinal
Match date: Tuesday, 8 April 2014 - Kick Off Time: 18:45 GMT - 8:45 pm CET
Venue: Stamford Bridge, London, United Kingdom

Chelsea team can’t be very happy about their performance lately. However they won the last Premier League game – last Saturday against Stoke Coty 3:0 – but before that they had lost two games in a row (one in PR and one in CL). The game against PSG, lost 3:1, showed the weaknesses of the Blues. Some says that the manger is mostly to blame – Jose Mourinho picked neither Torres nor Ba to play as a striker from the beginning, he chose Shuerrle, who plays usually on the wing. Together with David Luiz scoring an own goal (61’) the evening was a disaster for Chelsea. The Blues showed  a lack of the concentration in the both very beginning and closing part of the game – the goal in the 4 minute by Lavezzi and in the 93 by Pastore. In order not to repeat this scenario Jose Mourinho’s team has to simply play better and must show more focus. For the time being, playing like that, they don’t stand a chance against well-playing PSG. Improvement of the play will be crucial in the upcoming game.
Paris Saint-Germain is in a winning-strike - they are unbeaten since January 1st. In the Champions League they won their last three matches, winning 1/8 against Bayer Leverkusen (4:0 and 2:1) and 3:1 against Chelsea in the first game of the quarterfinals. This last result makes them a big favourite to win also the upcoming game and the quarterfinal as well. Against Chelsea PSG showed a very offensive football, scoring at the beginning and at the end of the game. Together with the Chelsea’s own goal (David Luiz, 61’) they managed to beat the Blues quite easily. In the upcoming game Paris Saint-Germain have to play without their biggest star – Zlatan Ibrahimović – who suffered an injury during the game against Chelsea. But as the performance showed it won’t be much of a problem.

Possible line-ups:
Chelsea: (Manager: Jose Mourinho) Cech - Ivanović, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta - Schuerrle, Lampard, Matić, Hazard, Oscar - Torres.PSG: (Manager: Laurent Blanc) Sirigu - van der Wiel, Marquinhos, Silva, Digne - Lucas, Cabaye, Pastore, Rabiot, Menez - Cavani.

Chelsea last 5 matches:
18/03/14 Chelsea 2 – 0 Galatasaray
22/03/14 Chelsea 6 – 0 Arsenal
29/03/14 Crystal Palace 1 – 0 Chelsea
02/04/14 PSG 3 – 1 Chelsea
05/04/14 Chelsea 3 – 0 Stoke City

Chelsea vs Stoke City Premier League 05-04-2014

Chelsea FC vs Stoke City
Competition: 2013/2014 English Premier League, Round 33

Chelsea FC team appeared to be in commanding position atop the Premier League just two weeks back when they drubbed Arsenal 6-0 behind an Oscar brace. But a stunning loss to Crystal Palace last Saturday saw the Blues' title hopes take a serious hit. They now must rely on results that are out of their control, but they do have a massive macth with Liverpool remaining as well as a very favorable schedule for the run-in. But they must correct their recent slump in form that also saw the Blues lose 3-1 to PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday. A return to Stamford Bridge this Saturday should be the remedy though, as the hosts haven't lost int their last 25 games at home in Premier League action, not to mention the fact that Jose Mourinho has never lost there in league play. Stoke offer a tough proposition and did defeat Chelsea 3-2 earlier this season, but we don't expect that to be the case here for Saturday.
Stoke City are in scintillating form at the moment, having gone unbeaten in their last 5 matches. The Potters won 4 of those matches inlcuding strong wins over Arsenal and away to Aston Villa. This form has propelled the visitors up the table to 10th place with 40 points, just 6 points adrift quickly fading Newcastle. However, despite the result against Aston Villa, the Potters typcially struggle away from home, and a matchup against a prolific home side doesn't spell good news for the visitors here. Furthermore, the Blues have won and kept the clean sheet in their last 6 matches with Stoke at Stamford Bridge.

Possible line-ups:
Chelsea FC: (Manager: Jose Mourinho) Cech - Azpilicueta, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic - Lampard, Matic, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard - Torres.
Stoke City: (Manager: Mark Hughes) Begovic - Pieters, Wilson, Shawcross, Cameron - Whelan, N'Zonzi, Arnautovic, Ireland, Odemwingie - Crouch

The strong rivalry between Barcelona against Atletico Madrid this season continue to heat up as both sides shares a 1-1 draw in the first leg of Champions League quarter final on Tuesday.
None of this two teams were able to win in their previous three meetings this season, so they were really determined in changing that course.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Barcelona were looking hungry as ever as they push forward in search of goals right from the start.
It was far from an easy task as Atletico played a solid performance, causing frustration for the home team players as the first 45 minutes ended in a goalless draw.
